    > Steve Jobs, the pioneer of the computer as a jail made cool, designed to sever fools from their freedom, has died.

    As Chicago Mayor Harold Washington said of the corrupt former Mayor Daley, “I’m not glad he’s dead, but I’m glad he’s gone.” Nobody deserves to have to die – not Jobs, not Mr. Bill, not even people guilty of bigger evils than theirs. But we all deserve the end of Jobs’ malign influence on people’s computing. Unfortunately, that influence continues despite his absence. We can only hope his successors, as they attempt to carry on his legacy, will be less effective.

    I have to admit, it's weird. Every time I see an Apple device I always think of Jobs, now that he's dead it's like the company has lost its face.

    So I suppose I do kind of miss him, in a way. I've never really liked him or Apple in general though, so it's weird.

    i was actually fed up with his marketing propaganda, bullshit that netbooks didn' work (because they threatened the MacBook bottom line) and Flash sucked (because iPads couldn't handle the processor demands).

    then that whole psychotic bullshit about the post PC era because his MacBooks were bottoming out in response to competition from iPad sales (ironic)

    and then he died, lol, so long fucking liar

    O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done;
    The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won;
    The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
    While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:

    But O heart! heart! heart!
    O the bleeding drops of red,
    Where on the deck my Captain lies,
    Fallen cold and dead.

    O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
    Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills;
    For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding;
    For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;

    Here Captain! dear father!
    This arm beneath your head;
    It is some dream that on the deck,
    You’ve fallen cold and dead.

    The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;

    Exult, O shores, and ring, O bells!
    But I, with mournful tread,
    Walk the deck my Captain lies,
    Fallen cold and dead.
