tell me about all these activities they have for people who are
physically and mentally ill like sports and social events
Wow, fuck that.
I assume you're on antipsychotics for the schizophrenia and can function well enough. I
had a friend at uni who was on medication for it and he said it made
the voices he would hear faint to unnoticable at times. When he didn't
take them he told me he would hear noises like a crash or something as a
voice. The guy graduated with HDs. As for social anxiety I have no
idea, perhaps practice would help. Try to create an internal sense of
detachment from what is happening in a given social environment. I
can perhaps compare this anxiety to that which I used to have about
public speaking. You just have to realise that there is no logical
reason for you to have this sympathetic reaction. I mean, why should my
heart rate increse, etc. when really I am just making noises at a group
of people. They are not about to attack me or anything. The same goes
for social anxiety. I realise it's an involuntary reaction, clearly - but this type of thinking helped me. And
the best place to make friends: work/school. Seriously. Failing that
take up a sport or start playing chess or some shit, whatever. You won't make friends lurking 4chan. |
