Reasons why you use Libre over Open.

Or is it just another one of those stupid ass hipster things?

Do either of these support 64bit Windows? I ask here because I just got back from the IBM website and found out Lotus Symphony doesn't support Windows 7 64bit.

Well, I used to use openoffice, then I heard that the majority of its developers moved to LibreOffice, and I'd rather use the one that they're developing.

Also, I can feel a noticeable difference in their performance, with LibreOffice being better.

as someone who studied book science I can only say that writing programs don't support acceptable options to design typography as seen in "real" books, justification won't do shit. We used Adobe InDesign for books and it was pretty cool, don't know if there's a freeware tool to do this but I hope so. Whatever, NEVER do typography in word or openoffice.

Open Office is DEAD, all the developers migrated to Libre Office after Oracle tried to be a dick. No active development is going on with Open Office, Libre Office is very actively developed.
    >> Anonymous 09/27/11(Tue)12:33 No.20254780
I used Open Office for two main reasons:
    1) I didn't want to deal with MS Office.
    2) I needed an office suit for Linux.

It was a horrible experience, it rarely worked how it had to and using MS Office formats (because the rest of the world is retarded) always came out bad.

I tried LibreOffice and it was day and night. I think it's better than MS Office too.
