I
don't know if you haven't noticed, but just about every board on 4chan
is pretty fucking advanced in the topic they discuss. I knew absolutely
nothing about technology before /g/, and since then I have seriously
gotten so far in basic technology knowledge that it would be 2
highschool years worth of teaching. Sure, there are other places that
teach technology, but you come out of there as a 1337 hacker. With /g/,
you come out a bit gay, but much more respectable. I must admit that /g/
is becoming the new /v/ (which is the new /b/), and took a hard hit
during summer. You must not be entering the correct threads OP, and
while technology develops faster then anything in the history of the
human race, it's not like something new and great comes out every day,
so we end up making our default threads.
One more thing, ever
since /sci/ and /g/ became their own boards, we have had way too much
discussion about software, which is disappointing to me. |
