The 2090 is still sold, but they go for $800 new. I believe the Dell 2007FP is still sold new as well, but they used both IPS and PVA panels. Not sure if they used IPS at one point then switched to PVA or if it was just a lottery. I'd probably be happy with either, but it's something to consider.

I haven't got much experience. i soldered together a driverless transport system (basically a shitty robot following a black/white track on its own). I have soldered together the core module and one of the sid modules, it's not that hard. I still have to wait for the parts for the control surface (rotary encoders, shitloads of LEDs, LCD etc.)... I'm taking it slow because I don't have that much spare money at the moment (student). But it's fun and I can't wait to be able to burst out SID awesomeness at the touch of the keys of my midi keyboard.

What I do is have an initial alarm set on my phone. Then about 3 minutes later, I have another alarm (using nakedalarmclock) set at maximum fucking volume on my PC speakers to blow me out of bed if I don't heed the cell phone alarm.

After a few times, it is very rare to sleep through the phone alarm. It is also a nice little bit of redundancy if xdandroid encounters kernel panic and I end up back in WinMo6.5.

As far as I know, the vast majority of TV tuners use Windows Media Center as a front-end, but I don't think it that supports gpu-enhanced displaying of the content.

I have a PCI HDTV card and WMC can use the hardware encoder just fine.

Dunno about Linux HDTV support, but those should be able to stream the MPEG2-TS format to the gpu right?

    You brown nose class traitor.

That man is a fucking faggot first for spending a ludacrous amount of money on a laptop when a union-built netbook is ALL YOU NEED, and second because it's a Mac, so that removes any doubt about OP's gayness. He overpaid for a 6750m and some shit 2.2ghz quadcore. Stop defending stupidity and non-union companies.

after I add some purple LEDs to go with the blue ones already in there.

    -Thermaltake Case
    -620w Neo Antec PSU
    -i3-2100 Core
    -GIGABYTE GA-H61M-D2P-B3 Mobo
    -8GB Sniper Ram
    -Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200rpm
    -EVGA Nvidia GeForce450

    Think about
    -2 more hardrives for RAID
    or
    -Some sort of SSD

So I can use my seagate and my other drive as backup while speeding up my system.

Instead of increasing the battery life or decreasing price, they decide to upgrade clock speed .05hz, or 3.125%

And it'll still be the standard 6 hour battery life, instead of something 8+. So no, fuck AMD on that release.

After checking some pages, turns out the spec speed increases are still shit.

The catch is they revised it to be more like the Llanos, so it says a 20% performance increase, though I think that's with ram topped out.

So unless the prices are comparable, I still won't be getting one. Never meant it to be anything other than a powerful netbook with mild 3d. Oh boy, buy the new version for 20% more performance... netbook performance that is.

You generally want to go AMD, as they're better per-core than atoms and the GPUs are better, as well as higher-clocked ram, though are generally more expensive.
