I like a browser that can zoom in and out of images with the click of a mouse WITHOUT the need for extensions.
There's also things like rendering quirks websites differently from every other browser under the guise of COMPATIBILITY, going against defacto standards such as binding undo closed tab to Ctrl+Z instead of Ctrl+Shift+T, and other things like that I forgot about.
It says a lot about a browser when it takes 6 years for the developers to fix the file selection dialog in Windows.

All browsers load at the same speed as far as I can tell. Sure, you can try to prove one is faster than the other by opening a stupidly huge and bloated site or by posting synthetic benchmarks, but neither one proves shit, as neither one of them are actually happen in the real world.

Anyways, I use the true underground browser: Darth Vader. You can only get it from other people who use it.

Opera has allowed you to resize images with a click since version 11 (although I disabled it with a script). They also follow web standards, which means that any errors are due to poor website coding.

    >going against defacto standards such as binding undo closed tab to Ctrl+Z instead of Ctrl+Shift+T

Ctrl+Z is the de-facto standard for undo in everything. If you don't like it, you can easily change it to Ctrl+Shift+T or whatever else you want in preferences.

Not only can Opera zoon with the click of a mouse, you can also (if you wanted) have a slider that zooms.

    >going against defacto standards such as binding undo closed tab to Ctrl+Z
Who had tab-closed undo first? Opera. The copycats decided that particular key binding.

This argument again. If you want to argue firsts, then guess who had hardware acceleration first? Firefox. However, that's irrelevant. It's about who does it better, not who does it first.

Yeah, I'm saying I don't like how whingy Opera is.
For instance, they've gone through what, 3 major UI revisions in the past 2 years?

The things I was complaining about are just the things I noticed in my short time with Opera, and I'm sure if I used it more I'd find even more things it does differently for no reason.
As for the file dialog. Opera was using the Windows 9x selection dialog on Windows up until a few months ago.

    >>19887449
    >Opera has allowed you to resize images with a click since version 11.
    Well it's about time.

    >They also follow web standards, which means that any errors are due to poor website coding.
Meanwhile every other browser renders sites like 4chan nearly (if not completely) the same way despite the non-compliant coding, which to me seems like a problem with Opera, not everyone else.

    See above.

    >Who had tab-closed undo first? Opera. The copycats decided that particular key binding.
Okay, but that really doesn't change much. Opera is still the only browser that uses Ctrl+Z to undo closed tabs.

    let me tell you something
    - Opera invented Tabs
    - Opera invented memory management
    - Opera was the first to integrate privacy control
    - Opera was the first to integrate a component which speed up loading times, and could increase page loading as high up as 40x
    - Opera designed today's browser UI. Chrome, FF and IE copied it to some extent.
    - Opera designed the minimalistic UI of having 1 icon where you access all settings etc.
    - Opera pioneered the latest speed race, without Opera, FF would still be in Beta 1, Chrome would be in Chrome 6, Opera is the lead innovator and THEY are paving the way for browsers such as FF and Chrome.
    - Opera was the first to have integrated search
    - Opera was the first to have Small Screen Rendering
    - The first to have full page Zoom
    - Opera was the first to cache web pages in RAM rather then HDD
    - First to introduce Mouse Gestures
    - Opera was the first to introduce integrated pop up blocking
-Opera was the first to introduce Speed Dial. An innovative feature which is now copied by Chrome and I believe Firefox as well
Don't forget to add that Opera is the first to support HTML5's <input type="date"> so you don't have to use a library like jQuery UI.

Also, compare Operas and Firefox UI, its exactly the same, Firefox put the menu bar in the EXACT same place hence Firefox COPIES opera, Opera is the only "true" browser as it has innovated. Firefox, IE and Chrome merely copied it and made it it's own

-Community has abandoned it, only went back for a brief second for Opera 10.5 before leaving again
-Because the community has abandoned it there's a significant lack of, well, everything: themes, addons, compatible userstyles, you name it.
-Last I used it the only way to make pictures automatically fit-to-width on open was to enable the fit-to-width option for everything since the auto-resize addon thingy was both buggy, awful, and abandoned.
-Allowing for global fit-to-width breaks many things, but most importantly Opera Mail
-Opera still can't into basic things in HTML like, say, Facebook's popup privacy settings
    -Memory leaks at random sites
-The UI is not very slick, seems to be an extra curved version of Firefox and it looks bad
-When enabling certain toolbars you get rid of the UI's transparency
-No way to reorganize the toolbars how you see fit, or, say, put the URL bar right next to the tabs

Well Mozilla claim every new Firefox release is faster than the last one, but the reality is that it’s just more bloated and sluggish.

The real point here, is Apple(Sunspider), Mozilla(Kraken), Microsoft(Testdrive) and Google(V8 benchmark) have all created benchmarks to show off certain strengths of their browsers, Opera didn’t need to, as anyone smart enough to use Opera knows benchmarks means jackshit in the real world.

Also running the very latest Opera version and here's another thing that bugs me:

When maximized the tabs don't reach the top of the screen. There's about a 5 pixel space between the two as evident by the placement of the Opera button. This means that it's the only browser that when maximized I can't just move my cursor to the top of the screen and click, I have to go to the top of the screen, then manually go down a few pixels which is highly unintuitive and bad design.

The space is there so you can always go to the top of the window and double click to restore it, which is not an option in other browsers. This can be disabled on opera:config, I'm sure some other anon can provide the specific settings.

That leaves space both under the Opera button and next to the new tab button.

You click a tab more often than you grab a maximized window by open space in the titlebar. There's a reason why when Firefox 4 was in beta and it had that space it was one of the most popular "bugs" reported.

Personally I consider standards to be less of "what every browser is supposed to stick to" and more "what every browser does and every website is designed for" which Opera goes against.

But sure Opera's great for IRC and Mail, just disable that Browser feature.

what would it change if it was not opera? When the obvious padding issue was there, you were fine with it being opera, now its not opera. And? someone pretend that its opera so he can claim padding issues all for himself?
