School fees and rent take priority in my case. Maybe next year I'll save up for my drivers license.
But in my case having a car here is too expensive due to parking costs.

Bike/walk/skate depending on how far I need to go. I have a 98 lancer coupé but I never drive it because I live 5 minutes walk from work and 10 minutes from a great shopping area

Sydney traffic also means I can get anywhere within 10km or so on my bike faster than in my car on a weekday. Pretty much only use it when I get called out to training in the middle of nowhere

It's always nice to know you have the backup just incase you need it though. Not gonna pick up a friend who's broken down on my bike.

Car's are quiet because they are engineered to be like that by clogging up the intake/exhaust a little bit.

In NL you need to take the motorcycle control lessons and exam on a closed track which costs you about 4 lessons and 1 exam = € 500 total. Then you need the theory exam which costs about € 50, then you need the regular road lessons and exam which is on average 25 lessons (20x50=€ 1000 total) and another € 300 for the road exam itself. Then you need to get a new drivers licence which costs about € 60. Total costs for the licence are usually around € 3000,- And if you're under 21 you're not allowed to ride a motorcycle which has >500CC power for about 2 yrs.

They can, it's just more profitable to stick with the tried and true one than it is to R&D.

Even still they could have been improving the current engines to reduce/direct their vibration instead of just playing with fluid dynamics.
