Usenet on your end is just like torrenting.

You download an .nzb file which is like a .torrent file, you open up the .nzb file with a usenet client, just like you'd open a .torrent file with uTorrent or Transmission, and the client downloads it for you.

    Main difference:
-You don't rely on other people at all. You don't need to wait for someone to "seed" something and a Usenet download won't go slower just because there are too many others or too few others. You download directly from the server.
-Because of the technology the speed is much, much faster than torrenting. In fact with it its even easier to go with a lower speed internet plan to make up for the $10 you'd pay to a Usenet provider, and you'd still be getting faster download speeds than you would with torrenting.

    >>19730655
Best sites for anime are just nyaa and bakabt

    >>19730246

There are a few sites (don't know the names sorry) that offer you free Usenet, but with it the information changes daily so you have to change your Usenet client's info, which I'm sure would get annoying.

I used to be subscribed to Giganews and use nzbsrus.com to find nzb files, and I loved it.

you pay monthly for it (i pay $11/month with astraweb)

basically you download .nzb files like you would torrent files and it starts the download. all of the download are in divided into several rar portions and then extracted at the end of the download.

the main reasons to use it is 1. you get 256bit ssl encryption so even your ISP can't see what you're downloading. and 2. you pull the maximum speed allowed by your ISP constantly (which is my case is 2.1 megabytes per second). I can download a 700mb dvdrip in under five minutes. that's less time than it would take me to go to the store, get the movie and come home.

Meant to put the Nzbmatrix there instead of Newsbin Pro.

    >why should i pay for a client?
The quality of the client itself would be higher and contain more features. You could try it out yourself and see if you like it. It's just a matter of personal opinion, but people usually do find that its worth the initial cost. I used Grabit which is free and I had no issues.>>19731417
    >and do i get a usenet profile by signing up for these download sites?
You get a Usenet profile by signing up for a Usenet provider, like Astraweb. This is the profile you'd put into the Usenet client.

The download sites for the .nzb files don't give you a profile to use. You'd just use them to get the .nzb files.

Guess I'm one of the few who still has free access to newservers through my ISP without SSL tough.
What forums do you use for it?
Currently using nsbrus, other free alternatives?

Be warned. Once you go Usenet you'll FUCKING HATE settling for less when money gets tight and you can no longer afford the $10 a month.

    I know, but it's free.
Besides my huge download days are over and use different protocols, including the good old ed2k for community releases.
Any good forums besides nzbrus and nzbmatrix?
