HP products are total shit. I've had an HP laptop, and two of my friends have had HP laptops, and guess what? All three of them overheated daily and had a motherboard failure in the end. The Thinkpad I replaced it with is still going strong.

HP desktops are shit too. My grandma paid $1000 for one three years ago (advised her against it, but she didn't listen) and it had a motherboard failure. Further investigation proved that it had a Foxconn motherboard.. cheap made piece of shit.

I took the RAM, hard drive, processor, and optical drives out and put it in a new case (one that wasn't built to keep you out), and on an Intel board. Now it'll last a while.

Basically, buying HP is like buying plastic silverware.. you're only going to need it for one meal, and they figure that you can just buy another one next time. But this is some expensive plastic silverware. :P
