CSS or quake is the "purest" test of FPS skill, BF2 measures how good you are at all the Bullshit in BF2.

Has someone ever played Operation 7? It has pretty good graphics considering the extremely low requirements of it.

Also it's only 700MB and you can even rice up your weapons with scopes and whatnot.

I'd like Battlefield series games a lot more if the team with the most tanks and helicopters wasn't always the winning team.

When I play an FPS I want at least a decent match up between me, a gun shooter against another gun shooter. Any enemy in a vehicle is automatically on higher ground has a direct advantage over someone who isn't in a vehicle.
