06/29/11(Wed)07:15 No.18459154Dug myself out of NEETdom with a lot of determination and a bit of luck. I'm now a sysadmin.
The
older you are, the harder it will be to save yourself. If you have a
good relationship with your parents, it helps. If you can, get yourself
on a training course related to what you want to do. If there's any free
council-run sessions on how to write a CV or how to take interviews, go
to them. If you want help (including financial help), dole office
lackeys will gladly give you it, provided it makes you more likely to
get a job.
The biggest hurdle is getting over the problem like >>18458882
has. There's no real incentive to stop living like a NEET. Sure, the
quality of life isn't amazing, but with an internet connection and near
limitless free time, it's very comfortable if you can shrug off the
feeling of being worthless. If you can give yourself some goal that you
can harden your resolve towards, anything is possible. Even if the goal
isn't that realistic, as long as you can draw enough determination to
get through the process of getting yourself into a job, it'll be fine.
It's not easy, and it's not fun, but it's a necessary step for someone living an unsustainable lifestyle.
(Lack of experience will really make it hard to get a job. Apply for relevant volunteer work as early as possible, if you can.) |
