-No unified development environment - xcode 4 is a fucking joy to use (look at the wwdc videos) , linux is a fucking mess to program with , even if you do write something ,you are gonna have a very hard job to find a proper UI toolkit and then your executable is only gonna run on a specific architecture / distribution unless you make your users compile the source and force them to suicide.

It's power is from the community and it's always increasing and be improved upon just as everything else

Linux is the basis of infrastructure, it's in supercomputers, servers, stock exchanges, phones etc..

If RMS torvalds and every important figure in the history of linux died it would still go on just the same as usual. I can't say the same for microsoft and apple.
