    Trains are technology.
Do you use them often where you live?
    Happy with the service?

    Is dat some M-series?
I get the Cityrail daily. Sucks at peak hour but the carriages are near-empty the rest of the time. They come pretty regularly too, even on the weekend. 4/5 stars because half the carriages are still K-sets from the 80s that have no airconditioning.

A person who actually knows the names of the EMU sets
I think we might have a king of neckbeards here.
On a related note, Wollongong has probably the worst time services ever, one delay between waterfall and wolli creek and everything's thrown out.

At peak times going into Sydney isn't the most pleasant thing on earth. No fucking foot room unless you get on at one of the earlier stops

I rage if it's not at least a Tangara and I get that those shitty tin cans without air con during the summer months(yes, some still lack air con)

I guess I can't really complain seeing what happens in Japland though
    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)07:54 No.18157018
They're testing the new Waratah trains on various Sydney lines.

My friend's dad is a driver.

    >>18156967
    Both the K and C sets have aircon, it's the L, R and S that don't.
    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)07:56 No.18157032

For the record since you both seem to know your shit, will they be getting rid of ALL the old L, R, S, K and C sets when they bring in the Waratahs or will they be keeping the old air conditioned ones?
Also how hard would it be to convert the old L R and S sets to air-con if the Waratah deal falls through
    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)07:58 No.18157049
the last time i used a train was when i was behind the iron curtain
    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)07:58 No.18157055
I use them every now and then, can't complain about the service, but would like qr to actually run them 24 hours. Shitsucks when you miss the last train at 11pm and the next is at 5am.

Well, not really. 2nd or 3rd biggest city in NSW and they have a train line that goes 300kms twisting around at about 30km/h and a highway that is 110 up until it touches the city outskirts then BAM, 50.

    >Wollongong has the worst service

I see you haven't travelled Hunter line.
    >Service delayed due to police action at Telarah
    >Service cancelled due to floods
    >Service delayed due to police action at Dungog
    >Service cancelled due to police action at Singleton
    >Service cancelled: DMU failure
    >Vomit on station uncleaned for days
    >Service delayed: Steamfest
    >Service cancelled: collision with car at level crossing
    >Service cancelled: collision with cow

No announcements, most stations unmanned, mostly level crossings, attempts to shut it down every year, attempts to pull the line to Wickham / Hamilton / Broadmeadow every year.
