Perfect just delete #1 under desktop computers. Try to avoid getting your opinion involved just fyi.

If one is assembling his own PC, I would say that the case is, in fact, important. Also, not every product from AMD is inferior to Intels/Nvidia counterparts. I won't even bother writing on the Mac vs. Windows vs. Linux part

    I approve, actually.
But as a web developer I'd prefer that you avoid recommending IE. Even IE9 is pretty subpar compared to the big 3; it doesn't support all the HTML5 features and has piss-poor CSS3 support (Trident has been historically terrible with CSS). Recommending IE makes my job harder because I need to worry about hacking around its eccentricities - and yes, there are still a few of them present in IE9.
Just recommend Firefox and Chrom{e|ium}. Opera is okay too I guess but keep in mind that no Web developers really care about supporting it - not that big of a deal but worth knowing.

AFAIK, Opera has the best standard support, so web developers shouldn't need to do anything special to support it.

    >>17860245
No rendering engine is perfect. My understanding of Opera is that it does indeed have excellent standards support so it shouldn't be a problem - I was just pointing out that very, very few professional web devs even bother to check their work in it.
    >> Anonymous 06/01/11(Wed)13:09 No.17860281
I would say your #2 is true for processors for the most part, but not GPUs. Each brand has cards on several different tiers, so neither manufacturer is totally superior to the other.

A tip: Nobody here just for the summer will seek out and read a 3-4 page long letter. Especially one without headers pointing out their specific need.

The whole first section could just be summed up to
    >Read the rules AND the global rules. They all apply here
    >Be specific in your disagreements with people. "you're a faggot" is both pointlessly vague and it makes you look like a butthurt brand zealot
    >Tech problem? Google it first. The easier a problem is to fix yourself, the less likely you are to get an answer from us.

3 shorter rules which get the same points across.

    >>17860189
Yes, it is important, but does the "rice" on the case really make it a shit case?
I agree on the second part, but I just put in a generalization, because I'm not going to comment on every single AMD product.
And go ahead and comment on the OS part, I'm open to suggestions.
    >>17860211
It's ported from a LibreOffice document. If I change it, it's not going to make it any more readable.
    >>17860219
I don't want to recommend IE (never really did, I just said reasons who people might like it), but there's no avoiding it with its integration and how some people think that IE is the only "internet" out there.
    >>17860224
    Did that on purpose.
    >>17860304
    I'll keep that in mind.
    >> MacFag !!9HixxlQIM2g 06/01/11(Wed)13:15 No.17860373
That's actually decent, and I'd be happy if newfriends saw this and took it on board.

Try and tone down the brand loyalty to Intel/NVIDIA (even though I always use both myself), and maybe cut back on telling us about your desktop preferences. Other than that, a-okay.

For a "normal" user, the case is uninmportant, I was just saying that someone that's building his own pc is usually a power user and hence the case will be important to him. Not the exterior part, but the inside... Rotated mobo, removable hdd cage (or whatever it's called), cable management etc.
I don't want to comment on the OS part because that would be too long, but generally speaking what you wrote is right
    >> Anonymous 06/01/11(Wed)13:20 No.17860463
Poorly-written, not very helpful, gives incorrect bullshit "opinions" a few times, and mostly just feels like a rant written by someone who has lurked /g/ for a month.
