on firefox, you can remove annoying search bar you never use by right clicking next to it, clicking customize, then dragging it out of its spot.

bash feature that took me way too long to learn about. Say you fork a process off of a terninal, like "firefox &", for example. If you type disown, or disown + jobID, then you can kill the terminal and the child process will run on it's own.
