Honestly, this shit isn't interesting unless it blows up. I'm not saying I want it to blow up, certainly not. But that's the only reason I could think to watch it... on the off chance it blows up. Other than that... you seen one, you seen em all.

The only "replacement plan" was Obama down-sizing NASA and laying off around 75% of the people in NASA while making all future launches outsourced to China. So everything JFK worked for is pretty much gone now.

Obama's reasoning was we can't afford to fund NASA anymore because of shitfucked economy (that Bush created). Is it NASA's fault? No. Are there other ways to help economy? Yes, like tax the fucking rich or lowering our military budget... which republicans won't let him do. Does defunding NASA make a dent? Not really, no other choice though.

If I remember correctly, the initial thought and plan was that these shuttles were going to be used for weekly missions. And would be completely reusable with very little maintenance. Too bad that was a fantasy. Each mission repair costs about the same as one Apollo mission did.

Nor should it be. Everyone pay taxes and therefore we expect services. You may not like it, but that how shit works. 'Entitlement spending' doesn't even account for 5% of the entire budget. Education and military are way up there. Should we cut back in educational spending? HELL NO! Cut the military by just 1/4th, and we got ourselves a working economy.
