A while ago (it might still be the case, for all I know), you could get banned for writing "Jew". This didn't have to be in a negative context; people just got banned whenever they typed the string "jew". If you talked about the demographics of a country and said how many Jews there were, you got banned. If you talked about your parents' ancestry and said they were Russian Jews, you got banned. If you said "jewel" or "jewellery", you got banned, because you said "jew".
