    I love it.

I was actually thinking of doing something like this but then I remembered that I don't care about how my PC looks nor do I make big purchases of parts like that. My hardware sticks to the rolling release scheme.

    Still, very nice.

    What's wrong with it?
It's not like if he had a huge case like the HAF X that he would suddenly be able to move his GTX480's apart.
They're not getting any less air in that case than they would in any other, plus they're external exhaust cards, he doesn't have to worry about them pumping air into the case.

They're either getting hot air straight from the H50 or that's pulling air away from their intakes, so yes, they are.

Also it's quite apparent he bought that shitty motherboard (and that shitty cooler) for that shitty build since they all got replaced when it went into a new case.

He changes his build like every 4 months, probably for fun more than anything.

As for temps, his temps were always fine, actually better than most GTX480 owners because he was able to undervolt and overclock his cards. And the fans have NO problem getting enough air. Normal GTX480's stay around 60% fan speed, his just had to speed up a bit more.

    Hot? No.
Loud? Fucking yes, which is why he has all that sound dampening material inside the case.

I tried it at a lan for shits and giggles, ain't none of my builds ever seen that much stress. And I stopped linx in that pic right after reaching peak temps because the sole purpose of it was to demonstrate peak temps at maximum load conditions on both the CPU and the GPU's separately. Surely games stressed them all at the same time, but never near anything that hard. I did have other pictures back then, and showed them here on /g/ too, but I've lost them since then.

Lol, notice how it is actually stopped already, even after 4 and a half minutes his CPU had hit 80C, his GPU temps would jump a lot more!

If it takes more than 4 - 5 minutes for your CPU to reach its maximum temperature, your case has shit airflow.

Which is saying a lot considering his case only has the H50 for intake and the PSU for exhaust.

You apparently don't know it all as you'd like us to believe. First and foremost, Furmark can max out 480SLI on a single thread. My CPU has 8, but only 4 were on when I took that pic. Linx wasn't running, so the 480's got all the CPU power they needed. However I was running furmark windowed, which didn't stress the GPU's to the max. Still, it was WAY more than any game I had ever tried, so I found it sufficient for demonstration purposes aka to shut up ignorantfags like you.

However, I'm too old to get JELLY over material possessions. With that said, I have the same 570 here on my desk ready to be packed and shipped away.

Did you know the 570 is the only card from the 460/465/470/480/460ti/570/580 line that has INADEQUATE power phases in the VRM desing?

A 23.6" 120hz acer, yes. Sure the 570 I used was over the top for most normal stuff, but running the newest games at maxed image quality settings and having your average FPS around 120 is a feat too big for it, try Metro 2033 for example.

Refresh rate (=smoothness of movement) is more important to me than the size of the picture. Sure I had a 2048x1536 capable CRT back 4 years ago, but fucking hell a 60hz CRT was cancer tier.

Well, 80 FPS with Vsync. And I'm not sure if it's the same way with those screens as with anaglyph, but when I'm playing games in 3D, everything higher than 25 FPS or so seems smooth to me, and I find it hard to follow fast motions.

I never use Vsync, and I find running 3D with a single 570 to be an impossible task, if you want to keep the settings cranked to the max.

I'm also selling my 3D kit because even though the depth does offer immersion, it cramps speed too much and makes my screen lightbleed twice as much.

My 570 is only about half as fast as his 580 SLI, but look at how my i5 is showing 47 GFLOPS in Linpack with three cores active, compared to 34 GLOPS for his 4 cores. With HTT turned off, his i7 is just an i5 750, and with HTT turned on, it's a fire hazard.

I had 480's, not 580, so you might be more than half as fast. However, I had HT on usually, just not in that pic (which is the only one I have left). I could run linx now to easily surpass your Gflops, but its not like I have anything to prove :)
    >> !ibdeLETEdU 03/01/11(Tue)15:07 No.16201307
    >>16201223
It was a typo. One 480 is basically the same speed as one 570. Two 480s would theoretically be twice as fast as one 570, but with my 15% overclock and imperfect scaling, it would probably be more like 70% faster.

CPU power is purely epeen at this point, but I'm actually a bit curious what your i7 can do. What is your CPU compute power with your maximum OC with HTT enabled?
