What would never come back, the internet? Bullshit, people will always find a way to network. You must be talking about electricity in general, which is not so far fetched. In the 1800s there was a solar flare that shorted out the majority of electronics (in those time they were telegraph fuses and the first set of incandescent lights) across the united states and caused quite a lot of damage. We're due for another solar flare like this in 2013, however we now have safeguards in place that will automatically shut down power before such an event occurs, thanks to pre-solar flare satellite warning systems.

    Not likely to ever occur.

Sort of like that Arthur C. Clarke story about the world bathed in eternal sunlight from its multiple stars, until a rare solar eclipse makes everyone freak out?

We are bathed in a world of Internet and don't notice our dependency on it until it's gone?

Don't worry. It won't happen. Google's increasingly-shittier search results are gradually weening me off the Internet entirely.

I'd be happy that I have about 10,000 /hr/ porn pictures and a few high class 720p pron movies to enjoy on my TV.

I also have 3 terabytes of movies and TV series of which I didn't watch about 1/3 yet.

I would probably get a life. At least I'd try. The Internet is like my self-forged shackle that keeps me from going outside because, really, there is no reason to go outside if you have video games, porn, imageboards, movies and endless entertainment and food.

The internet will never be "down". Everything depends on it. And with "depend" on it I don't mean that the hipsters can't browse their facebook anymore and freak out but that most of our infrastructure, business as well as governmental is dependent on its functioning.
