  • "UPTIME IS THE GAME, DOWNTIME IS THE NAME"
today marks the end of scheduled maintenance—two guys with two weeks to kill and a few hundred hours later, we're finally [mostly] done.
page loads/image downloads should be dramatically faster. until we hit 1gbps, at least. to all of my wonderful and ungrateful users: "you're welcome."
(note: there are still a few other things i'll be working on so expect intermittent downtime)
ps: thanks so much to mvb for all of the help and support.

Looking to buy my first pair of skinny jeans. A few issues/questions.

    1) I went to two malls today and couldn't find any stores selling skinny jeans in the men's section -- closest thing they had were "slim" jeans that were notably baggier. PacSun had skinny jeans at $40 a pop; I was hoping I could get some for $20 or less, but the sizes available in the clearance section were too small for me. What stores should I be looking at, and should I swallow my pride and start browsing the women's section?

    2) Skinny jeans are supposed to sit snugly around the hip and thigh areas, right? No bagginess at all?

    3) My underwear drawer is currently boxers-only. Will I need some briefs so I won't have to tuck my undies back in whenever I pull my jeans up?

    Thanks.
    >> Anonymous 01/12/09(Mon)20:39 No.677549
PacSun is actually pretty moderately price, especially seeing as they have a 2 for $55 deal on all their jeans online. If you know what size you want why don't you go buy them there?

Depends on your body type. You want snug fitting jeans that allow you to pinch about ½ inch of fabric.

If your tights are slightly bigger than the lower part of your legs, you want tapered jeans. If your legs are skinny, then you probably want drastically sized down slim-straights.

    Your questions are silly.

Yes. Might be kinda awkward at first (especially asking for the fitting room), but definitely worth it. I've been wearing girls' pants for years and can't go back. Feels good, man.

((Added bonus to girls' pants: makes ass look good.))

    0/10. Try harder next time.

There is a reason they make fitted jeans for men.

Totally unnecssary. I can't think of any place that shouldn't at least have a Kohl's, fuck. Where do you live OP?

Not OP, but kohl's has skinny jeans? Fuck, I'm gonna stop going to pac sun...

Miami. I found a few relatively close Kohl's locations just now via Google Maps.

For some reason, I have it in my head that I won't find anything worthwhile in department stores (hence why I've been avoiding them). I've never even been inside a fucking Kohl's, but if their online catalog is any indication, there isn't much of a selection in what I'm looking for. Should I give it a shot anyway?

levi's 511s, mostly in boring washes and never in rigid if that's your style. Macy's has a better selection for 511s IMO. Levi's has the best except they don't always seem to stock sizes below 30, and UO has a decent selection but the faggots only stock even numbered sizes.

Yeah I wear 32/32's at pac sun, but I've noticed the different colors have slightly different fits. I just started wearing skinny jeans about 2-3 months ago so I'm still very much a newfag when it comes to knowing where to go. I'll have to check out macys and kohls though, thanks for the info.

Is 30" like the upper limit for looking good in skinnies? I'm 6'2" and based on my experience today, I think my ideal waistline size is 32" (anything above and the jeans start to droop/bag around the waist and thighs).
    >> Anonymous 01/12/09(Mon)21:10 No.677614
    >>677612
depend on height, 32" is not bad for 6'2" at all.
    >> Anonymous 01/12/09(Mon)21:17 No.677627
you should only wear boxer briefs anyway, bro.
    >> Anonymous 01/12/09(Mon)21:23 No.677656
its rare to find 28x30 511s where i live. but when i spotted the ONLY pair ever, they were selling for $40 at Macys, i cringed since i didnt have the money... so my handy dandy pliers went to work.
    >> Anonymous 01/12/09(Mon)21:24 No.677659
target sells really shitty skinny jeans for $25, you could try those, they're called industrial or something.

    >>677612

anything under 32" is too fucking skinny, and you look like an anorexic stringbean. if you wear a size 30 waist in skinnys and you're 6"2 you must look like a fucking malnourished freak.
    >> Anonymous 01/12/09(Mon)21:33 No.677700
I like cheap mondays. I'm 6,2 28" and they fit perfect. Though last seasons had a bit more stretch. They were snug. Now in black anyway, they're a bit of a strange fit.

Are you a walking stick? My waist size is usually a 30 but probably a 32-33 in Cheap Mondays.

CMs with stretch are practically denim leggings. They'll fit nearly anybody.

Not really, at the moment i'm about 147lbs. I use to wear the 26" before i gained some weight.

Nah, I've actually got a little bit of a gut. The pressure from the skinnies didn't seem to make it worse though, and in any case I'll probably have an untucked shirt so it won't really matter. My waist size with normal jeans is 32-33".

    1) Where the hell do you live? Here in NYC there's a countless amount of small scale chain based jeans stores that sell Levi 411's for as low as $30-$40 a pop, the problem for me is finding one with a wealthy stock of my size (29x32) but there's tons. I've never seen a PacSun in NY but $40 is a steal for nice skinnies, $20 ain't happening. Look into any local jeans spots or urban fashion stores that sell Levi's at least if you wan't nice ones that are affordable. No you don't have to get women's, only closet homos do that, I'm sorry, men's skinny jeans can be nice but some of y'all over do it trying to find some fit that's NOT FOR DUDES, women's jeans aren't made with space for your man parts in mind. If you want jeans that are so tight you can hardly bend over (which you'll probably enjoy doing a lot), sit, or even walk, hug all up in the crack of your ass and prostate, get disowned by your dad and laughed at for cross dressing and will probably develop a tumor in your nutsack, be my guest.

    2) If you get them in your EAXACT size (no sizing up, like you use to do with looser cuts, use a tape measure to find out) it will fit well enough on the waste area to not even need a belt, it's fairly snug in that area compared to other fits, but remember these are mens jeans, it has some space for your package, it's not skin tight, it's fitted with just a little bit of space and creases jusl ike that pic, but if you're expecting it to fit like it was painted onto you, you may be disappointed, the Levi 510 is a bit more snug, to much for my comfort however.

    3) loose boxers can be a bit of a problem preventing them to stick out from your tighter pants, but I don't wear skin tight clothing straight down, I'm not quite concerned about that, as long as I look fine on the outside, if you wear clothes that actually...uh show your waste, and you want to avoid showing your boxers slipping out, you should either get a belt after all or go with the tighty whities.

    i suppose
showing regular briefs would be preferable to either though
    >> Anonymous 01/12/09(Mon)23:46 No.678164
    >>678157

Id honestly say if you have to end up showing something, boxers would be best. As long as they dont have some fruity print on them like youre 12... Any kind of brief showing just looks like your mom still dresses you =/

Though we should really just try to avoid showing our underwear altogether.
