i like it, but next time maybe sand it before applying color so it looks smoother

I would like to have it smoother. But its papier mache, can you even sand that? Never tried it.

Couple of ideas when using Paper mache use tissue paper for the final layer, sand it back once its dry you will get a nicer finish.

Alternatively something like Bondo can be used to achieve the same effect.

I think it could also use a nice gloss finish on top of the paint.

Very nice, but as others have suggested, the texture is a bit of a turnoff. I don't even know if it's possible to sand paper mache, but there's gotta be a way to make it smoother next time. Also consider getting a gloss spray to add some shine to it.

Thanks for the tips guys. I really like to try them out, but unfortunately I can't since it's a present for my sister tomorrow. I hope to try it some other time!
