DIY ideas that are so fucking simple and useful you wonder why the fuck you didn't think of it yourself. Or, alternatively, "feminine" crafts?

You guys seem more accepting of this kind of stuff, and I'm a sewer with a crafting bug. We all know /fa/ is absolutely useless, so I'm hoping I might find a place here. I might not work with chainsaws, but I know the inside-out of a sewing machine.

I'm just saying, with rumors of Nikola Tesla and Adam and Jamie as possible monthly saints, I'm in love.

I submit that you have overestimated the complexities of the former.

That design of bookmark is poor. To move out of way from text you need to remove it, which is slightly more awkward than a traditional bookmark, and if the book then closes you've lost your place, unlike the traditional flip. It also stands out less for finding the place again, doesn't work near as well as an aid for opening the precice page, and has a much higher risk of damaging the book (specifically dogging) than traditional.

    tl;dr - don't reinvent the wheel

    cute, but not well engineered.

I'm not against DIY, why would I be here.....by all means make your own bookmarks, I'm just saying that's a bad design. It'd still be a bad design if you bought it in a shop.

Easy solution, make it horizontal instead of diagonal, rectangle would work, then give it horns/a hat/w.e. you desire. "bad engineering" solved.

But then it doesn't nestle properly and is prone to falling out and if it covers the edge you still have that book damage paper bending problem.

I don't know what sorts of bookmarks you're using, but I have to take the bookmark out when I start reading or it gets in the way of the text. A normal vertical bookmark has the same flaws as this one. I'm willing to spend an extra two seconds sliding this bookmark onto and off of the corner of a page if it means I get to use a sweet monster book mark.

Men are superior to women in every way. I prefer the company of men when given a choice, including sexual intercourse. I can't wait until I invent something that wipes women from the planet. I don't think anyone would mind; females are a vestige of evolution, and serve no worthwhile purpose today.

Wouldn't the printer have trouble and jam due to the rest of the shirt? If not, it'd be really cool. I wanna make some No More Heroes shirt, and investing in screen-printing seemed like a lot of time for just one or two shirts of each design. Perhaps if I print on T-shirt fabric first, put it through, then sew the shirt together afterwards...

wouldnt this cease to glow after a while? Then you'd have a useless jar.
    >> Anonymous 10/27/11(Thu)14:24 No.32537
    >>32480
moar leik a jar that no longer holds a chemical reaction; then you'd dispose of the contents in a seal-able bag, then do it again

if you got tired of repeating just clean the jar with bleach or something after thoroughly rinsing with hot water

Yeah, just hand wash it if that's the case..

You could always make a square with a zipper around it, or snap on buttons, and paint the square so you can remove it and wash the shirt.
