I have a bunch of old electronics, so I was wondering if I can make anything cool with them, tried Google, but I didn't find anything interesting...
I'm a car-mechanic,and I'm pretty good with soldering and alike.
Can you give me some Ideas?
    Pic related,it's what I have

This isn't /b/ where your thread dies in 5 minutes.
It can take a while to get suggestions (if any).

    >Playstation
Makes a great CD transport if you're into that kind of stuff.

    >Flatbed scanner
You can make a digital large-format camera

    >Speaker drivers
diy a speaker cabinet if those drivers are worth anything

    >ancient apple
    sell it to /g/

    >joysticks
make a simple plug & play game/interface with a microcontroller

    >rubber dome keyboard
essentially garbage, you can take out the controller board and make your own custom keypad if you really wanted to

    >big grey thing top center
I have no idea what the hell that is

All of that should keep you busy for a few months.
    >> Anonymous 02/27/12(Mon)12:29 No.162230
    Scanner...Hmmmm,interesting
    Ancient Apple...Actually a c64
    Big grey thing...Giant speaker

Also, any ideas for the sega megadrive?
    >> Anonymous 02/27/12(Mon)12:33 No.162233

And I meant the grey ting with the power cord.

    >>162233

    Not sure if trolling...

A quick search of 'CD transport' will yield excellent results.

If you don't want to make something electronic you can do something like this.

the c64 and the atari carts. I'll buy them.

    email me if you're keen.

    >C64 base unit w/floppy drive
    >Genuine Atari joysticks
    >Atari cartridges

Sell these. Even if you're dead set on tinkering something up, they're worth money you can use to buy parts that'll be more useful to you.

The PS1 and Genesis are worth a little bit too. The PS1 moreso if it's one of the early revisions that they put a godlike DAC into for lack of cheaper/less capable part stock during early manufacturing runs.

the floppy drive is for an apple, not a C64, and yes, im really hoping he's keen to sell those carts and computer..

You sure about that? It looks like a 1541 with apple stickers on it.

Fuck for all I know those could be commodore stickers. They used the same rainbow pattern on their products.

Hell, the computer could actually be a Vic20. Blurry photo is blurry.

I'm just going on the thread contents, personally I used to rock a TI-99/4A, so I wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway :)

My first thought was that it was a VIC20, but i'm not so worried, I can use either a C64 or a VIC20 for what I have in mind

Actually, i'm sure I could code up something to run in that, but then I miss the opportunity to have knobs and buttons and flashing lights!
