What did you think of the Game Room?
    >> Anonymous 08/12/08(Tue)16:51 No.2303
Shitsucked. Smash Bros and Guilty Gear, the two games I actually cared about, were both impossible to get to.

I wound up playing fucking Mario Kart DoubleDash the entire time I was in the Game Room.

On the bright side, I picked up GGXXAC+ on my PSP, so I still got my fix of GG anyway.
    >> Anonymous 08/12/08(Tue)16:53 No.2305
i dont feel like waiting 30 to 40 minuites to play a game, there are games that i saw and would have liked to try, but there were huge lines and i knew i would get destroyed instantly and it would be pointless...

Only game i played was SC4 for 3 rounds and was beaten and decided not to wait again
    >> Anonymous 08/12/08(Tue)16:58 No.2308
Loved it. Animu faggots are so terrible at games that shit was easy.
    >> Anonymous 08/12/08(Tue)17:38 No.2338
Surprising amount of win in the form of Magic:the Gathering players in the back. Always enough people around with decks to kill key gaps of time.

Was sad to finally get to play SCIV and found out they neutered one of my favorite moves Astaroth had.
    >> Anonymous 08/12/08(Tue)17:59 No.2354
I played some House of the Dead 2 and then played Magic for a little bit.
    >> Anonymous 08/12/08(Tue)19:53 No.2524
I played Typing of the Dead, and died at level 5. Fuck - the Dreamcast version had different words and sentences than the PC version, and I wasn't used to that old keyboard. I've actually perfected the PC version too, so dying really surprised me.

And I played SC3, and the only people I was able to beat were my friends, and even then it was because button mashing with Voldo = utterly unpredictable.
    >> Anonymous 08/12/08(Tue)19:59 No.2533
    LISTEN TO THIS BULLSHIT.

So, I'm on the line for team Brawl.

Me and my friend and gonna have a good time and play these guys who've seem to have been there the entire time.

Finally it's our time, and we're just foolin' around, so I say "I'm gonna be widdle Wucus!"... Only to find that the person I'm playing already picked him.

Not wanting to pick the same dude, I decided to just go with Ness.

THIS FAGGOT. HE TAKES HIS SHIT RIGHT OFF OF LUCUS. PUTS IT RIGHT ON MARTH. AND CHAIN GRABS THE SHIT OUT OF ME THE WHOLE MATCH.

    What happened to honor?
    >> Anonymous 08/12/08(Tue)20:08 No.2550
I was pissed that they took up so much room with Gears of War, Halo 3, and Call of Duty 4. Nobody wanted to play that and they took up way too much space. They're fun games, but not the type of games I want to play at a convention. Should have had twice as many tvs for Brawl.
    >> Anonymous of College Park,MD 08/12/08(Tue)20:16 No.2557
I only played a few hours of Halo 3 late Saturday and a few hours on Sunday morning.

Amazingly the game room ran for an additional half hour after 12 midnight on Saturday. Shame it did not stay open later because I had nothing to do until 2am.

Dude I agree with you. The target base of the con and people who like console shooters really don't combine that well. A few more fighters and more shmups could be necessary there for next year.

Speaking of shmups, did anyone play that really bright dueling shmup? If you can look past the cutesy stuff, it was an interesting concept.

The guy at Soul Calibur 4, who was there for probably the entire day, seemed like he was going to throw a fit if I beat him. I was playing Amy, he was Siegfried or w/e. Close game, he won. Tried to shake his hand since it was a good game, he gave me a funny look and I said "Fuck you," shook that cum-infested hand and walked away.

    Oh, sorry about that.

There was one redhead-ish ponytailed guy wearing all black who was at the Halo setup for just about the entire con and refused to give up his spot. That's the guy I was talking about and quite frankly, he comes off as a total douchebag.
    >> Anonymous 08/12/08(Tue)23:41 No.2809
SCIV was awesome; I didn't play, but merely observed. That Mitsurugi guy was godly; 30+ straight wins before he gave up the sticks.
    >> Anonymous 08/12/08(Tue)23:58 No.2830
Oh hells yes. I played House of the Dead 3 and the Go Fish at a table with some friends. Shit was awesome.
    >> Anonymous 08/13/08(Wed)00:06 No.2837
The game room was pretty cool, I mainly stayed around the Brawl area though. The longest chain of wins I had was probably the 5 with Toon Link.

Decent shmups and bemani table as usual. Too much Guitar Hero and some random game like Keyboardmania would have been fun but whatever. Guitar Hero et al should really get moved away from the other rhythm games, as much as I like it. Having Rock Band on the entire other end of the game room was a nice choice though.

Shmups were good (I played Mushihimesama for like two hours stoned out of my mind) but needed more DDP DOJ

haha that kid was hilariously creepy. i played him sunday morning, and he got terribly pissed when i beat him with siegfried.

i hung around guitar hero when it was emptier and had a bit of fun playing decent people. played a kid from philly in devil went down to georgia, got beat in the last 10 notes. pretty awesome.

I saw that. You were awful, dude. You should really try another character. Ivy's just a terrible choice until you've really learned her move list.

Back on topic, I had an ok time. Played as Raphael in SC4 a few times every day. Tried that weird rhythm game where you pop buttons on a table. Didn't do much else besides watch games.

I know her moves on 3. They got changed or some shit because I couldn't the "come here" and 3 hit to unblockable combo.

also epic, winning a multiplayer that included saps and slivers with my spirit deck. Jesse, sorry I took you out first but you were 3rd strongest and the more life I took from you the likelier I was to survive a massive sap or sliver attack.
    >> Anonymous 08/14/08(Thu)22:35 No.4162
I wanted to play SC4 so bad but I was extremely intimidated. I play at home all the time, especially on PSN, but playing in public was really scary. Seeing people change the buttons intimidated me too, I have never done that.

I REALLY fucking wanted to play too.

I was in the standard tournament for a while, and my friends and I did freestlyes and double on the JP SN2 setup.

On the other hand, now that I think about it, what was on the left side past SCIV and Brawl? I didn't wander over there the whole con.

On a slightly related note, it seemed as if the Yugioh community was kinda decent and I learned that playing Traditional is decent, but not really game-altering.
