I actually don't know what always turned me off about this. The first time I saw it I instantly changed channels when as soon as I heard the intro. After that I'd watch for about 10 seconds until I just changed channel. I just can't sit through an entire episode of this.

I heard the last episode was epic.

This show and my Gym Partner is a Monkey turned me off CN for awhile.

imo the best episodes were the ones that focused on the side characters/were not lazlo-heavy

I liked it too. I think everyone was disappointed because they were expecting humorous social commentary or nightmare fuel as is expected from the creator of Rocko's Modern Life but Camp Lazlo was a really "retro" cartoon. It was more akin to the 1950s Hanna-Barbara toons minus the crappy animation.

At some point near the end of the shows run, the rest of the camp started getting annoyed with Lazlo's antics, and the show improved a lot.

I disliked it because it was just a neutered Rocko. Cartoon Network only made this show because they thought it would be a Spongebob killer.(If this show survived, we never would have gotten Flapjack or Chowder, their other Spongebob killers)

Though it takes place in the same universe as Rocko. Filbert Turtle and Heifer both appear.

CN never attempted a Spongebob killer and Chowder and Flapjack fail at both.

Not because they're bad shows (because they aren't) but because CN doesn't doesn't MASS MARKET their shit like Viacom does. We make fun of CN here but the fact is that they allow their creators a degree of freedom that no other network does.

If Nick controlled Chowder then they'd be circulating the same 6 episodes from the first season while putting out Chowder napkins and action figures.

I was actually suprised by the fact that I LIKED Panini. Usually the Amy Rose-esque stalker/wannabe girlfriend is horribly done, but Chowder and Panini actually have semi-realistic interactions and aren't as two dimensional as I expected.

I'd buy a Chowder action figure with regurgitating action.
