Site should be functioning 100%, however we encourage all users do the following immediately:

1. Clear your DNS cache. Windows users enter "ipconfig /flushdns" at your command prompt (be sure to run it as an administrator). Mac users enter "dscacheutil -flushcache" at your Terminal window. *nix varies, but see here.
2. Clear your browser cache and cookies. This varies per browser but should be pretty straight forward.
3. Remove all entries for 4chan servers in your hosts file (if you've edited it). Windows users can find this at "%SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" and Mac/*nix at "/etc/hosts". How do I edit my hosts file?

I felt the Skrull invasion was a bit underwhelming. I was expecting Ultimates' Chitauri levels of destruction. Then again we only saw one ship so there will likely be more of them later on, maybe even a threeway slugfest between Kree-Skrull-Earth.

Strictly speaking, it's not *entirely* his call to renew or not. There's also the matter of whether or not Disney XD wanted more.

It was going to not be renewed anyway. Blame the writers strike

Has anyone given the thought that Loeb might just be a scapegoat for the will of the higher ups? That he's the fall guy in this terrible plan of theirs fails? I mean, Loeb has done some pretty neat things in the past. Does he have a history of bad decisions like this?

But you are responsible for the low viewership of the show.
That's your fault.
And "On a channel no one watches" isn't really an excuse, you're on the internet and hear about a show, check what channel it's on and then tune into that channel. Does anyone even "Watch a channel" anymore? I just watch shows specifically.
>>
>>37372535
but is it worth it?
>>
>>37372619
How are we responsible? We're watching aren't we? What if we're the only ones even watching? Hell, we're the reason it lived as long as it did.
>>
>>37372626
YES.
YES YES YES.
If you have Netflix the entire first season is on instant queue. If not there is a thread on /co/ right now with mediafire links for every episode. It's a fucking great show, and it's amazingly faithful to the source material. It's not really dumbed down for kids at all, it just feels like a family friendly Avengers story. Like you never see Tony Stark drinking but they definitely show the fact that he can go off the deep-end sometimes. Hank Pym doesn't beat Wasp, but he definitely isn't a good Boyfriend.
>>
>>37372673
You responded to a post that I wrote to a person who hadn't seen the show. I said he is the reason it is getting cancelled. Then you jumped in and freaked out because as a viewer of the show you felt I was blaming you. So just throwing that out there, you aren't really comprehending the thread clearly.
>>
But Loeb can, and has, and this show eill suffer because of him.
>>
>>37372558
That the standard run for cartoons set by TV networks--65 episodes at best. Disney XD greenlighted AEMH for 52 episodes in the beginning, so they can use it to promote the live action film. The series started off at primetime, then moved to Sunday mornings when ratings were reported as poor.
>>
>>37372452

The only way BatB was going to last any "longer" than it did was if its seasons were divided up into 13 episodes rather than 26, so it could be spaced over five seasons instead of three. It ran as long as any DC show does on CN. You can say "that's not long enough!", but it's how things are. The only other way that setting was getting more play was with a spinoff.

But always remember, at 65 episodes, it ran longer than Batman Beyond, Superman: TAS or Justice League (not counting Unlimited). It wasn't cut down early, in fact, it was given a third season when most people thought it would be cancelled. Be thankful for what you have, for once.
>>
My only gripe about this show is that Tony says "tech" too much, and it's like nails on a chalkboard to me every time he says it.
>>
I really don't get how EMH can get crappy ratings while at the same time the Avengers movie is breaking records. EMH is like the purest form of comic book heroes right now. Even if you take the fact that its targeted at kids, wouldn't you say that atleast 20% of the people that saw the movie are kids?

Same reason why the comics don't sell big numbers, only some people are interested, the rest are satisfied with the movies.
>>
>>37372922
Oh wow, that was shitty.
>>
>>37372897
EMH gets "crappy" ratings because it's on an extended cable network. Not a lot of people, and especially not people with Nielsen boxes (they tend to be in low income brackets), have extended cable. When compared to other things on Disney XD, its ratings are quite high.

In fact, some of the people who work at Disney XD suspect its popularity is one of the only reasons why people watch Ultimate Spider-Man at all.
>>
>>37372956
Yes but unlike comics, nearly every household has access to EMH. Comics are expensive shit when you get right down to it but having cable is pretty much standard.
>>
>>37372619
Most carriers only have Disney XD on their higher tiers of programming. I'm not going to pay $10-20 more a month just so I can watch one show. I'd rather have the option to just give that money to the production itself. Why don't we do that?
>>
>>37372897

It's on a little known network at a time many people are at church or out for brunch. If it were the good old days, before cartoons were relegated to cable network ghettos, it'd be airing on weekday afternoons or Saturday mornings on a broadcast network. Those were the days...

No it's not. Lab Rat, Pair of Kings, and Phineas and Ferb are high, AEMH are apparently not.

>In fact, some of the people who work at Disney XD suspect its popularity is one of the only reasons why people watch Ultimate Spider-Man at all.

Which is bullshit because USM airs before AEMH, not before, meaning USM could be giving AEMH a ratings boost. And if AEMH was doing incredibly well, then why was it moved to Sunday mornings?

After EMH ends, I suppose Marvel will examine USM's ratings. If it flops, it flops.

Honestly, I going to be optimistic and say Marvel was waiting to see how audiences responded to the live action Avengers movie, before signing on for another season of the cartoon. AEMH may continue onward with a new moniker and a cast similar to the film.

And the reports about the next Avenger series being tied to USM may have meant using Drake Bell as Spider-Man and things like that. I heard they already shaved off Nick Fury's hair to make him more like Samuel L. Jackson.

Just a reminder, the Hulks show is a reality TV show where the Hulks turn and talk to the camera.

Wait, when was Spider-Man in it?
>>

:(
>>
>>37374113
Yeah, I know. The worst part is that they're using Hulk, Rulk, AHulk, and Shulk.

>RAAAR HULK SMASH PUNY VILLAINS
>RAAR RED HULK SMASH HULK BECAUSE HULK TRIED TO SEX RED HULK'S DAUGHTER
>RAAR A-BOMB SMASH HULK BECAUSE HE MADE ME A-BOMB I GUESS
>I'm She-Hulk. I'm gonna be that woman who always rolls her eyes at the three and acts as the group nanny while being fucked by sixty men each night.

>>

Yep. Agents of S.M.A.S.H. Features Hulk, Red Hulk, A-Bomb, and She-Hulk punching shit.
>>
>>37374362

And fist pumping? Was spidey really in this show?
>>
- Hulk Agents of SMASH, is a bit different than Ultimate Spider-man, but still geared towards children. with very simple, under-explained plots.

- The show is described as a mindless action series, with no character development and no intelligent stories.

- Characters backgrounds are not going to be explored, but only touched upon (The site gives example of Nova, Luke Cage, Iron fist and White tiger from Ultimate Spider-man)

- While the site reports no Cut away gags, and breaking the 4th wall, there are some episodes where the characters are talking directly to the camera, as in a reality TV shows, where each member of the hulk team gives his thoughts on the plot’s situation.

Because if there's one things kid's love in entertainment, it's being talked down to.

Fuck the reason I like the 90's Spider-Man and X-Men cartoons was because of the more elaborate, multi-episode plots.
>>
>>37373860
im kinda ticked they did that to Fury. i like Jackson and all, but it feels like people are only focusing on him instead of what makes Fury awesome. cant they merge both ultimate and 616 and let him keep they grey streaks and grumpy old-man attitude?
>>

>The show is described as a mindless action series, with no character development and no intelligent stories

No bias at all.

Marvel hasn't even announced the full writing staff for the show yet.
>>

90s spider man had some of the longest arcs Ive seen in a kids show
>>
>The deal is this: Avengers EMH is not actually doing that well on Disney XD, so after this second season airs, a whole new Avengers cartoon will begin, possibly connected to Ultimate Spider-Man (chances of it being called Ultimate Avengers: really fucking high). While CBM is quick to blame newly appointed Marvel TV head honcho Jeph Loeb -- and boy, has he fucked over the Avengers in the past -- it's not entirely his doing; Disney obviously wants a show with higher ratings, and feels that an Avengers cartoon should be doing better. I can't blame them for that.

>That said, this news depresses me immensely. Immensely. Avengers EMH isn't just one of my favorite cartoons ever, it's actually my favorite version of the Avengers ever. I've said before that I'd trade the live-action movie for 10 more seasons of the cartoon, and now I wish I could. The fact that the perfect cartoon adaptation of Marvel's biggest franchise could fail -- right as a live-action movie is coming out -- is incredibly sad, and proof that we don't live in the best of all possible nerd worlds...

>Watch the show. Make your children watch the show. Make your nephews and nieces and younger siblings watch it. Watch it on Netflix, too. Buy the admittedly shitty DVDs (I am) for yourself and every single person you know. If Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes suddenly starts raking in cash and viewers, then maybe Marvel and Disney will let it continue a bit longer

I heavily doubt the "insider" works for Marvel at all. The damn report reads like a an anit-USM talking point written by a AEMH's fanboy trying to blame the show's failure on anything but itself.

The only thing confirmed from that is the faux documentary style, and that was talked about at E2C2.
>>
>>37374916
But JLU took a lot of the focus off the founding seven JL members (except GL and Hawk-Girl I guess) and was different enough to be a good show on it's own
>>
Why is there no X-men episode? Most we got was a mention of mutants and some photos Fury was looking at. And the Cyverine Skrull, I guess. A Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver intro episode would be nice.
>>
>>37375076
Well, Marvel Studios lost the rights to produce X-Men and Spider-Man movies; there's a chance that Nick has TV rights for X-Men because of WatXM.
