    this is jut sad.

Peter's death was very well written even if it was a bit sudden and killed a lot of potential storylines. The first few Morales issues suffered a lot from classic Bendis decompression but it's finally picking up its pace and I thought the character had a lot of potential.

by bringing Pete back not only are they shitting up the Ultiverse further, they're also making sure that Miles will ALWAYS be "the black Spider-Man who fought crime during a few months when everyone thought good old white Spider-Man was dead" instead of THE motherfucking Spider-Man.

Swamp Thing and Animal man are great books, but neither of todays issues were excellent.
Animal Man's was a neat break from all the shit going down. But Swamp Thing just felt like it was dragging things out. Some of the Rot monster designs were cool, but other than that they were kind of underwhelming.

Yes, but they recently killed him off again, made a big deal out of it, then brought him back like three weeks later.

His whole death was a cheap ploy to make readers think Fear Itself had real lasting consequences. But all those consequences have ALREADY been mostly undone (the other big one being the death of Thor -- for like the ninth time -- which has already been reversed.)

I enjoy stand alones so seeing Buddy's movie was great for me. And for Swamp Thing, we'll just have to agree to disagree on that. The scenes between Abby and Alec, plus the depressing ending put it over the top for me. Not the impaling but Alec being too late to become Swamp Thing again. Sure, you know that it isn't going to stick but knowing that the good guys when out doesn't ruin the story.

Action's backup was pretty touching. Morrison brought the craziness but that back up was more emotional.

Seriously, guys, why do you keep reading Marvel? What's the point of following an ongoing when you know that it won't go four issues without getting fucked up by some big event?

Even Daredevil, the best Marvel book out there, is getting shat on by a crossover in a couple of months.

Conversely, I have to wonder why anyone would write for Marvel, when they know that whatever story they come up with will inevitably be tossed aside in favor of Quesada's latest cash-grab even.

    Misplaced loyalty to a brand.

No matter what rancid shit the company dishes out, there is a certain group of people who will lap it up and ask for seconds, just because it has a Marvel logo slapped on the cover. They don't make up the majority of Marvel readers, but they're a big enough group to keep the company (barely) afloat.

Real fans are loyal to stories and characters, not logos.

I don't know if there was a directive about not making major crossovers within the Ultimate line or not, but certainly it was doing great without it, Then Ultimate came and fucked everything up. Currently the only redeeming factor about the line is Moralespidey. Now they'll fuck it up as well by violiting one of the certain directives: if Ultimate characters die, they stay dead. The only risk Watchmen purists have to worry about is will the Before Watchmen line undermine the original series. Here, we are talking about a final blow on a whole line if they fuck it up.

Ult. Dr. Doom is one of the glaring continuity errors of the Ultimate Universe.
