Executive producer Avi Arad says that ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ will not be a complete reboot of the comic book franchise

Executive producer Avi Arad is saying that director Marc Webb’s upcoming take on Spidey won’t go the route of previous comic book reboots like Batman Begins and (to a lesser degree) The Incredible Hulk by essentially ignoring the existence of its predecessors.

Shaw's plan was to manipulate America and the Soviets so that they would nuke eachother and everyone else,
so that the few mutants who are probably powerful enough to survive nuclear explosions or the high amounts of radiation (which is easy to assume that number wouldn't be any higher than 5 figure number for the ENTIRE WORLD)

and with the world being of ash and practically unihabitable, the mutants will take over and name the guy who caused the world to be one giant Chernobyl THEIR GREAT LEADER

I thought First Class was awesome. So what if they don't "do the obvious", first off, maybe its because they're all younger and do things differently/carelessly? 2nd off, that's like 40 years ago. It would take them years to figure out a modern day computer. generations think differently, its proven. Like kids born past 2000 lack a lot of common sense and focus. And 3rd, you guys would be bitching even if they did do the obvious, you'd be like "wow, this movies so predictable". Quit whining and enjoy the movie OR shut up. I bet if the 90s Fantastic Four had been finished, you guys would eat that shit up. You McFucking KNOW it.

i didn't like first class because Xavier and Magneto's relationship seemed to only last a few months when I was under the impression they were good friends for many years before the divide, also how Xavier seemed surprised in X-men 1 when magneto had his psychic-immunity helmet (that's a very nitpicky reason I admit), also how Magneto put on the crown of the lich king and just turned 100% evil too fast for me, also how the black guy never gave his full name and died first, I really thought we were beyond such lame cliches

In his defense it seemed like a join or die situation.
Shaw in that condition.....and frankly in his current condition were pretty hax.

Silly sir, we can't have a fun joke-cracking hero. He needs to be brooding and angsty. How else can they appeal to the tween crowd

It just looks like it's trying too hard to be grim and gritty to me.

I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like they're trying to do the dark knight with spiderman.

well it's not like that was the only thing that was pretty wrong with the movie
there was also the writing and huge continuity issues

like how they let darwin join, despite it being right at the time of the civil rights movement
you'd think one guy would have had trouble working with a black man

and 75% of why Beast was there was for plot convenience
    >writer 1: we need someone to pilot the ship
    >writer 2: have beast do it
    >writer 1: we need a way for prof x to find the other mutants
    >writer 2: have cerebro, duh
    >writer 1: but we don't have time for prof x and magneto to become big enough friends to built it together
    >writer 2: let beast build it
    >writer 1: but having magneto work with prof x to build the thing was a major plot point for X1 AND X2
    >writer 2: we already have prof x getting into a wheelchair before he goes bald, despite his being bald but still walking in both X3 and wolverine origins. I'm sure nobody will even notice or care

    1) This is not a continuity issue
    2) Most people in the 60's were "soft racists". Klan members and lynchers were the extremely small minority.
    3) If you're persecuted for being a mutant, you're probably more likely to sympathize with others who are persecuted based on physical appearance

And suggesting that plot points contradicting the first two X-Men movies makes First Class itself a bad film is such an asinine statement I won't validate it with a comment.

I thought superhero movies figured out by now that more time for minor comic characters is better for their movies?

I mean look at batman begins
it actually got a good jim gordon, and that movie was amazing
