The
largest, most recent, and most popular adventure on the MSPA site.
Homestuck began in April 13 of 2009 and is described by the author as
"Combining the themes and feel of The Sims and Spore".[citation needed]
The story follows four teenagers as they play a video game that brings
about the end of the world and leads them into a whole new universe
where they must explore the game's cause and ultimate consequences. As
in Problem Sleuth, the adventure is characterised by time travel,
mystery, and a complex, largely undefined fictional universe. This
adventure includes an expansive cast, including the denizens of the game
world, as well as twelve figurative and literal trolls from another
universe. Unlike the previous adventures, which exclusively used GIF
images for animation, this adventure introduced the use of complex Flash
animations and games, some of them involving music provided by the
comic's community. Seventeen soundtrack albums have been released under
Hussie's own record label, What Pumpkin.[4]
There are currently
five acts in Homestuck. These include the first four acts, an
intermission, and Act 5, which is split into two parts (one focusing on
the trolls' session and the other continuing the story). According to an
omniscient narrator within the story, there will be seven acts in
