Over the last decade or so, the Flash has gone from being merely a guy who runs absurdly fast to someone with complete control over kinetic energy. Inertia canceling, momentum, adding, warping, etc.

Literally one of the most powerful heroes in DC but very few authors use much but his own speed and his ability to skip through time because, surprise, using this sort of power set without the Flash just steamrolling everything and using other characters as credible threats is hard.
