With the newly removed /new/ and /rk9/, I'm considering suggesting to Moot and other mods to try splitting /co/ into the two respective groups (Cartoons and comics). If not permanently, for at least a month or so. If it goes through what are you /co/mrades assumptions of the 2 boards dynamic with each other? Will we get along, Will it put us on opposing sides of a war, which would be faster/more populated, and who gets the kids (DCAU and Marvel cartoons) in the divorce?
I don't want it to happen just because the cartoon board would be 80% ponies.Hell, I even watch the show and I still don't want that many threads up at one time.
shit, we can't even get a western drawn porn boardand i don't really mind the two topics being mixed, since /co/ is a lot slower than /a/, where it's all 'refresh and a thread is on page 4'
I think it'd be a bad idea. It'd be like splitting up Mango and Animu. It would split the population of the board and reduce it as a whole.
It shall be thus: /ac/- Anime and Cartoons/cm/- Comics and MangaThe current /cm/ will merge with /y/ as it should always have been.
>>22747885NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
>>22747885Oh the scandal! Although having an animation - general board would be an interesting idea.
I can see it now...Day one>Anon 1: Hey guys, adventure time thread?>Anon 2: gb2 YOUR PONY FILLED SHIT HOLE /ca/ncer!!!>Anon 1: Fuck you /co/cksucker!!!>200 reply shitstorm
>>22747885This is how it was originally, actually. It made no fucking sense then and it makes no fucking sense now. Comics and cartoons are very closely linked, same with the animus and mangos. Christ, I'm surprised I'm not seeing a suggestion for another split into /sm/ - Superhero Movies.
As far as Board-Tans go, I'd imagine /co/ would stay with /ck/ and /ca/ would split through osmosis into a twin brother that's roommates with /tg/
>>22747929>Comics and cartoons are very closely linked, same with the animus and mangos. /co/ is for WESTERN comics and cartoons while /a/ is for animu and manga. Keep the Jap stuff in /a/ while the Western stuff is in /co/. If they start merging the boards and their posters, it'll turn into a shithole of weabooism.
the new board will be /gs/ - gay shit and house homosuck and mlp threads
>>22747885>comics and manga>anime and cartoonsVery bad idea, because again, those boards move WAY faster, and the demographics of the boards don't match very well. You won't get much of a chance to actually talk about comics, for starters, the LOL HEY COMICS/MANGAFAGS threads will be even MORE common, and if you're bothered by the abundance of MLP/Homestuck threads here, get ready to never be on page 1 because you're being drowned out by manga updates.
>>22747885>>22747911>>22747918>LOL anime has BOOOBS!!! y u so kiddy, west???>enjoy your shitty unfluid animationsTerrible.
Would comic related cartoons still be allowed on the new /co/?
Add two new boards/dc/ - DC Comics & Cartoons/mrvl/ - Marvel Comics & Cartoons/co/ left is for everything else.
>>22747918No. Anime would dominate the board and there would be mass trolling. Best to separate the two.
aww why'd they get rid of /new/?
/co/ = comics/ca/ = cartoons/a/ = anime/ma/ = manga/mp/ = ponies/ho/ = homestuckAnd every one of these boards would be depopulated, but /a/ would still have the most posters
>>22747929This is ALWAYS the "Argument" for keeping it together,CARTOONS. AND COMICS. ARE NOT. NOT. NOT. ANY WHERE NEAR AS SYNONYMOUS AS MANGA AND ANIME!!!! Cut that shit out.
>>22748055They totally are though.
Separating comics and cartoons would be like splitting up jelly and peanut butter. Sure they taste great separate, but they work best when together!
>>22748016Cuz it was nothing but 'insert racism into news stories', duh.
If anything they should split up /tg/ and warhammer
>>22748016Because with 4chan increasing mainstream popularity, that last thing Moot needs is to wind up on Fox News being accused of a White supremacist hangout. As ironic as that would be considering how much /news worshiped beck
As long as moot puts up a dickgirls board, I don't give a shit. Also, I'm laughing at /cgl/ who honestly thinks their tiny and slow moving board will honestly be split. Pft.
Works fine the way it is, what a terrible idea.
>>22748092/emp/ for EMPRAH
>>22748055Yes, yes they are. Comics get cartoons, and cartoons get comics. Besides, a split board would only slow down traffic on both sides, and waste server space. So, suck it up, and stop being entitled. I knew /vp/ would cause nothing but trouble, but the loud, entitled minority just won't shut up. Now everyone wants their boards split up. You want specifics, go to a goddamn forum.
>>22748116I know I still go 'gothic lolita is still a thing?' when I check out that board.
>>22748116A lot of 4chan would say the same about /co/.
Pretty much any comic I've ever read I could see as an animated feature or series and vice-versa.There is going to be shit everywhere you look so you better just learn to be tolerant.
No, we need a WEB comics board, so we can get this constant Homosuck/Gunnershit/Moon over June/Netroid shit off here.IT IS CONSTANT with that crap.
Making predictions:-Gay Porn Board-Computer Programming Board-Writefag Board
>>22747885/cm/ should never be merged with /y/. Never ever ever. Sometimes you want to see cock, sometimes you don't.
I think we need another creative projects board, /col/ for collaborations. This could also devolve into /writ/ for writing projects, /rec/ for recording music, and /anim/ for animations. It'd be much better than /ic/...which is always Loomis/USE CANVAS FAGTZNo love for animators there, ever.
>>227481564chan has desperately needed a 3D Men board for some time now.
>>22748135/co/ is like the 4th fastest board
>>22748156>Gay porn boardI'm down with that. /y/ is nothing but anime stuff.>Computer programming board>Tumbleweeds>Writefag boardSmall bursts at the start, mostly dead a month into it, to be used mostly for writing trolling/copypasta bullshit no one cares about pretty quickly.
I would really hate it if they split us up. Probably stop coming here all together.
>>22748158Then you can pic and choose which pictures to click like the rest of us you entitled fuckwits.
>>22748220If they do split us up, I just want you all to know, I LOVE YOU GUYS!
/co/ moves slower than a snail most of the time. If you split it into two boards, they'd just be another /tv/. What should be done is merge /co/ and /tv/ into one board, since /tv/ at it's fastest, moves slower than some other boards when they're at their slowest.
Leave /co/ as it is. A split would be a terrible idea.
He should bring back the /hc/ board.
>>22748282That lumps a lot of western media together. There'd be cries for weeaboo heads on pikes and violence.I'm all for it.
That's a stupid idea.You're stupid, OP.
>>22748282>merge with /tv/Oh god no, I hate those guysThe only good threads they ever have are about Black Dynamite
>>22748139>Pretty much any comic I've ever read I could see as an animated feature or series and vice-versa.Read some better comics GODDAMN
He's repeatedly said that is a retarded idea.
If any board should split it should be /a/ or /v/
There should be a board for Puppets, because TV never talks too much about MST3K or Lambchop dammit!
>>22748282Go to /po/ and see what a slow-moving board is.Most of the time the faster a board moves the worse it gets.
>Tony and Cap are in wuvFuck you, OP.
>>22748359Why would you split /v/?
they should make /troll/But would it work?
>>22748399Yeah, I know, that should totally be Rhodey.
>>22747801which side is still married to /ck/?
>>22748439Comics would be married to /ck/But now he's lost his childhood innocence and charm and they become trapped in a loveless marriage.
We also either need better/new mods for /fit/ or split /fit/ up into /fit/ and /health/. The entire userbase on /fit/ sagebombs health/medical related threads in a heartbeat and circlejerks over steroid abusing looney toons.A great addition would be adding /homework/ or compiling a homework help bit into /adv/. There are knowledgeable people on 4chan, but there are just as many academically struggling, socially awkward people who could really use help and feel embarrassed about it.I support a /sexymen/ and/or /gay/ board 100%. They would be a wonderful addition.I think /f/ should have a full board counterpart to compliment the /f/ dump page. That's all I can think of.
Spilting any board would be a horrible idea, I mean just look at /jp/.What's actually needed is a proper gay board since /cm/ and /y/ are full of shipping land whale femanons.
>>22748514>What's actually needed is a proper gay boardIt's called /adv/.
In general, people on /co/ want a gay board that isn't /y/./co/ remains totally gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
>>22748513>>22748514I vote that this be the theme song for /gay/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4upn3M4jtQY
>>22748392Well, yeah. Faster = More people = more dicks. When a board moves slowly, it becomes hard to carry on discussions, because of how long the the response time is. Could you image trying to talk about your favorite comic when there's a 10-15 minute wait between each post?
>>22748575Dude. Imagine the possibilities with a /sexy beautiful men/ board or a /gay/ board. OH MY GOD
>>22748481>>22748439This was brought up when this idea came around with the birth of /vp/, /ck/ said the comic said was to mean to the cartoon fans and would go with them instead.
A gay board would be called the /clo/set>>22748580And no, this would be their themehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqv8UJc72SU
>>22748640Ah sweet! /ck/ knows how to have a good time. She knows who'll please her...
Fuck MLP and shit
I'm a comics guy. I would have never had my eyes opened to some really good cartoons if I hadn't seen them on this board first. I consider the melding of the two to be a good thing, if for no other reason than it expands my horizons, if even by a little bit.People who watch cartoons can read comics. People who read comics can watch cartoons.
>>22748766Well, Siddhartha Gautama is all for sticking together. Any other transcended individuals want to weigh in on the subject?
/co/ shouldn't be split, not that it matters because it won't be. people just want it to be split out of some retarded sense of entitlement of "I shouldn't have to see things I don't like on MY board!"There's no need for a separate board for webcomics (they're still comics, the medium encompasses more than just superhero comics and non-superhero comics for people to look down their nose at people who read superhero comics), or a board for homestuck or even my little pony. Honestly, just because something has a surge in popularity doesn't mean it needs its own special board. We never needed an Avatar board, or a Scott Pilgrim board, or anything like that. People think just because /vp/ was made it means that anything that gets relatively popular deserves its own board. The only new /co/-related board we need is /pco/ for cartoon porn. As it stands now there's no place on 4chan it can be posted without risk of being banned. Post it here on /co/ and you run the risk of posting porn on a work-safe board (hurr durr /co/ has no mods), and try even stepping foot in /h/ with something that's not anime and you'll get banned. It'll also improve the quality of the board as a whole, since now the weirdos with their weird fetishes have a place to take their creepy shit.
>>22748123But then what will I do with all this delicious heresy?
>>22748792I wrote a haiku for this occasion. Okay, here goes:Comics and Cartoons,Make me wanna Party Hard,With the Cosmic Wind.I'm Chinese so I'm not good at this type of shit okay?
Separating /co/ into other boards would make sense if /co/ was overcrowded. It isn't.Separating both /a/ and /co/ and merge them into two other boards makes no sense either, because /a/ has a huge activity, and /co/ doesn't => /co/-related stuff will be buried under tons of /a/ threads.
I like discussing comics, and I like discussing cartoons, and there's frequently overlap between the genres, especially where superheroes are concerned.Whythe fuckare you peopleso god damn autistic
>>22748859Forgot my pic, I'm Lao Tzu
Agree with the gay board even though I'm not into that shit, or at least modify /y/.leave /tg/ and /cgl/ as is, as much as they like to think highly of themselves, they're tiny.Add the /diy/ board that /adv/ was talking about a few days ago.Keep /co/ and /a/ the same, merge /w/ and /wg/, and since moot deleted r9k because it's original purpose wasn't being fulfilled, delete /v/.I also agree with another board /adv/ was talking about, a greentext general, to preserve the day-to-daystories and other amusing greentext stories that took place on r9k. Maybe an "ongoing series" board, where all of the homestuck, MLP, hetalia, and other popular threads that sometimes dominate other boards can just chill and continue on in an orderly fashion.
There is not enough "fuck you" in the world for the OP.
>>22748129As a consumer of lolita clothes, I have to tell you, it never has, and never will be, a thing. Maybe if most of the younger ones weren't special snowflakes and people were aware that it's not just gothic, but honestly, not even then.
This is a silly idea, it's always been a silly idea, if you want more comic or cartoon threads, just make them.
>>22748896>>22748896But aren't all comics that aren't canceled 'ongoing series?.
As long as moot adds a dickgirls/futa board I'll be over the moon over june so I don't have to wade through the shithole of diaper or giantess threads in /d/
>>22748920It's mostly the ridiculous drama that gets me.>DID YOU SEE ____ IN HER OUTFIT OMG WHAT A COPYING WHORE>who is this, why and how do you even keep track of this shitThen again, /cgl/ is one of the girl heavier boards, so drama is to be expected. Not to say guys are any better, we just express our shittiness differently.
>>22748988As long as you mean both the cosplayers and the lolitas. They're both terrible in that, but for some reason like to think that the others underaged high school girl drama is worse than theirs.I'm not going to lie though. I only find women funny when they're being bitches, and /cgl/ is hilarious.
>>22748920I too am a lolita, and as much as we annoy the "c" side of cgl, we're not going anywhere. Everyone thinks the community is growing and getting more and more popular, it's not enough to warrant our own board.>>22748949But not all of those have five or six threads a day. The board could be used for pretty much any series, but rather than "here's a new homestuck thread guys the old one is on autosage" it would be "homestuck pictures and discussion thread 1" and continue on forever. The series wouldn't even have to be running, even though Transformers Animated ended a long time ago there could be a chance for the TFA fans to have threads there without derailment.
>>22747801>>With the newly removed /new/ and /rk9/, I'm considering suggesting to Moot and other mods to try splitting /co/ into the two respective groups (Cartoons and comics). If not permanently, for at least a month or so.That has always been a terrible idea.
>>22748871>/co/ isn't overcrowdedHave you ever been to one of the actually slow boards? I don't think moot should, but both a cartoons and a comic board would move along just fine.
>>22749098/toy/ had a thread that lasted for more than a month.I don't think moot minds the slow boards, since he said the reason he deleted new and r9k was their complete deviation from their original purposes. Still, splitting /co/ up is still a stupid idea.
So essentially we'll have the pony board and the Homestuck board. Great.
Splitting boards is fucking retarded. But it won't happen to /co/ anyway; it's not that popular of a board. Though, I would agree for a /pco/ board.
You comicfags realize you're getting stuck with the Homestuck threads right? And you cartoon fags are still stuck with the ponies. You sure it's worth it?
OP is an utter dolt. As is anyone who wants thinks a random splitting of /co/ is a good idea.
keep /co/ the way it is.add a /gay/ board, and make this their theme songhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3j4t185wl-0
>>22749172I know about /toy/. /u/ STILL has thread from October. Their threads often stay for several months (PSG thread finally autosaged a bit back, and it was started in November). And I didn't say anything about slow boards. I was just pointing out that saying /co/ isn't crowded is pretty ridiculous.
STOP BUMPING THIS THREAD ALREADY.
if we did make a comics and manga board, we should call it /mc/ and then all of the /mc/-goers would become masters of ceremonies. BUT I really don't want that to happen ever, because if I never went to /co/ for the cartoons, I probably wouldn't have started liking the comics part.
I think we've all learned a valuable lesson here today.Anyone that approves of Iron Man/Cap shipping is as dumb as a rock.
>>22749414
>split everythingNo, no, no. I've got a better idea: merge /vp/ back into /v/ and ban anyone that bitches about it. Hell, if they'd just enforce the "no trolling" rule, that'd be half of /v/'s traffic right there.>>22748156There's already a /prog/. It's just that nobody ever notices the text boards.
