Oh no we'll have to buy comics again.

Be right back, reading Wolverine: The Jungle Adventure by Walt Simon and Mike Mignola. Wolverine getting made fun of for being so short and fighting dinosaurs in the savage land.

So that means that manga readers will have to get their mangas the same way we get our pirated comics all these years? I don't see the problem.

Now they need to do this to prevent comics from appearing on Japan.

I hope these publishers create their own legal download service.

Manga scanners/translators don't seem to take pride in their work. I know the manga is generally printed on lower-quality paper, but... they don't even try to clean anything up. And would it kill them to include the covers?

Maybe once they're a little more underground and not competing to be the fastest, they'll slow down and do a better job. Sort of how Minutemen and DCP do a much better job than OCD did.

Quality varied on OneManga. Their Devilman scans weren't bad, but they misused "an" a hell of a lot.

I downloaded Naruto the other day to see what the big deal was about. it seems okay, I read the first volume, but... no covers, the paper is really grey and it's jarring how the text balloons are so poorly erased in paint, I don't think the pages were joined for two-page spreads... it's just a mess.

I have some scans of us translations that are pretty good quality. And some scanlations that stand out, like Living Game. But in general, the poor quality of the scanlations is off-putting.
    >> Anonymous 07/23/10(Fri)21:29 No.18827732
only shitty casuals read manga and stream anime online
    >> Anonymous 07/23/10(Fri)21:31 No.18827788
Most of the Naruto/Bleach/One Piece scanlations are rushed

Seems like there's a race between OneManga and Mangastream on who is the fastest
    >> Anonymous 07/23/10(Fri)21:32 No.18827822
    >>18827732

Actually, the quality of anime fansubs is generally very high. And once high-quality DVD versions are out, the older stuff generally gets replaced.

I's just manga scans seem to stay shitty no matter how much time passes.
    >> Anonymous 07/23/10(Fri)21:32 No.18827833
Where the fuck am I supposed to read unlicensed stuff now? Bakuman? Ugh.
    >> Anonymous 07/23/10(Fri)21:34 No.18827905
    >>18827788

I suppose that's because those are the most popular. I don't really see how. Naruto is okay, One Piece... just seems silly, and Bleach just bored me.

But yeah, I'd rather they compete to see who's scans look the best rather than who can get them posted the fastest.

I don't really care because torrenting and downloading isn't that hard.
