/co/ had already spoiled for me that the toys get donated to the little girl down the street and that Bo was given away before the events of this movie, so I'm probably the only person who made this assumption/connection, but was I the only one who thought for sure Woody would find Bo at Bonnie's house? It would have certainly made sense, especially if Bo was sold at a garage sale. And, since Bonnie looks about four-ish, perhaps Bo was sold five years ago to her mom, who keeps Bo in, I dunno, the kitchen or something-- explaining how Woody missed her the first time he was there and makes for a very good happily ever after for the two of them. I feel like this would have been a very obvious route they could have taken.

Good movie, though. Kinda sucked that Lotso was simply Stinky Pete 2.0, but he was still a fun character

Also, Sid is directly responsible for getting the toys back to Andy in time. Sid saved the entire saga.

I always thought Bo would be at the day care, anyone else notice that Woody, the main character, was the only one to not end up with a girl? That was the only thing I didn't like about the movie. Then again, romance isn't everything.

She wasn't really important at all. Sure, she was Woody's love interest and she had to fill that role because it was needed for adults, but I doubt kids gave a fuck. Bo being gone made me feel that was why Woody was a little more desperate than the others to latch onto Andy so that he wouldn't be alone. Plus, with Bo gone they had to fill the romance gap with Buzz and Jessie and we saw that come into view at the end of the second movie.

Replace Andy with Ellie and Woody with Mr. Fredrickson. When you look at it like that, you'll notice the moral's pretty close to UP. However, I would like to say that's more or less where the similarities end, so maybe similar isn't the right word here. Noticeable would probably be better.

That wasn't "one of the original ideas". Pixar had planned the daycare plot since Toy Story 2 was released. The "Buzz is recalled" plot was the plot Disney was going to use for a DTV Toy Story 3 when Pixar was threatening to break ties with Disney.

Something has bothered me since the second movie. Woody was obviously a toy made in the 30's or 40's (B&W Woody's Roundup as proof). So, he had to have had more owners before Andy or exchanged hands in someway over the years. If he had other owners before Andy, then wouldn't he be experienced with being passed along? I mean, it would explain his casuality with the attic but still... I think he would be fairly adjusted to the idea of Andy getting older and no longer having use for him. Andy's mom (in the second film) did mention that Woody was a family heirloom (or something to that effect).

That's always been a point of contention with me. Woody clearly has alot of pre-Andy history, so why is it never addressed?

I think she only called him a heriloom to turn off the guy from buying Woody. Meaning he's not for sale get the point, now back off kind of way.

On a side note, you know what's kinda upsetting? There is still room for Toy Story 4. I don't want anymore movies. Call it selfish cause as a guy I can relate to Andy more, but I don't wanna go through anymore "our current owner is growing up" plots.

You know Disney they have the power and the greed and don't be too ready to say "Lassetter will never allow it" he has bosses to answer to, so if they want something and he won't budge it's firing time.

Also I'd say either 50s or 60s for time, TV wasn't big till then, also since the show was canceled after some space thing it would fit better then with late 60s/early 70s.
Maybe Woody got toy amnesia or something, like Andy's dad put him away and during that time some shit happened so that Andy was the first thing Woody saw next time he was played with. Jessie really wasn't put away till Al put her in storage. So it would make since that she didn't forget her original owner, also her ower's room looked very 70s

I'm wondering if consoles are like the toys. Just imagine: being restrained like that, always having to be plugged into the television while everyone else got to go on adventures. Hell, the Speak-N-Spell was even part of the gang, but I bet that was because he was battery powered. Consoles live a lonely life, only played with, but never getting to play.

And then there's having to deal with the next generation of consoles and being considered useless.

Ditto. When when they first met him, I was hoping it wouldn't turn out that way.

I DO like how Disney didn't immediately spoil him as being a villain with the promos and commercials, though. That sole fact alone ruined UP for me; I liked it, but I would've liked it a lot more had I not known already that Carl's hero would turn out to be a villain.

I think Lotso was similar to Stinky Pete in his mannerisms at the start of the movie and his ultimate fate. But ultimately he was a pretty different character. But like somebody said earlier in the topic, Stinky Pete was completely rational in the way he acted. He really believed that he was doing the right thing. Lotso was just a deranged prick who wanted to see toys suffer.

Actually come to think of it Lotso was kind of a mix of Stinky Pete and Sid

Also you are now realizing that Woody was the villain of the first Toy Story. Sid was really more of a force of nature.
