In the Nox Special, Nox becomes obsessed with the Eliacube. Despite his wife begging him to get rid of it, he locks himself away for weeks creating things, hoping to make a better life for himself and his family. However, when he finally exits his workshop, he finds out that his wife and children moved in with her sister on an island, and that he was welcome to join them. Nox continues his work, however, and finds out from an old debt collector that the island was flooded by Ogrest's Chaos, and that nobody survives.

I felt the same way. To be fair though Grovy's death always gets ruined to me by that fucking Sadida kid with the derp eyes who's smiling when they show all the Sadida.

Not to mention, I just loved the way they handled Nox's character. He figured he'd be able to go back through time and erase all the evils he committed. When that backfired he just lost all hope and broke down. That tear he sheds had more of an impact on me than the death in the previous episode.

Actually that's not quite it, because in the last episode's script after redeeming Venger they finally get the choice between returning home or staying for more adventures and it deliberately ends before they make their decision, so they could have a happy end or continue depending on whether there'd be a fourth season. Instead TSR decided to stop production of the series before the season 3 finale could be made.
