2. it takes time to record voices

They need to remake the entire series. Completely redone, new art, animation, everything. Starting from Dragonball. Filter out the shit filler and make fights less tedius, remove power levels and make everyone useful based on skill, while including the movie characters and storylines, fitting them into valid chronological order and adding some surprises.

Like moving Movies 3 and 4 to the period of time between Trunks killing Freiza and the Androids appearing. Vegeta will be present during the Talas, Lord Slug and Cooler attacks. Tien, Yamcha, Android 16 and Master Roshi present during the Metal Cooler and Brolly incidents and actually being just as useful as everyone else, etc...

Hey, why am I a dumb faggot? It was the 25th anniversary of Dragon Ball as a whole, they should have given us a totally refreshed anime, instead they celebrated 20 years of DBZ, redrew scenes, removed characters, blood and recast some of the good voices with J-Pop stars and popular anime actors.

CN bought broadcast rights to FUNi's old dub from the mid-late 90s and ran through everything they had before they were canceled. At the time, no one was really sure DBZ would be a success and they didn't immediately order new episodes to be made. Ratings were high and solid and rode Pokemon's resurgence of mainstream anime and CN finally got on the ball and ordered new seasons from FUNi. FUNi took their dub in-house which led to the huge change in VAs.

Dragonball Kai still has the forgotten characters and retarded power levels bullshit. What i suggested was an alternate series that removes powerlevels and keeps old and forgotten characters that were popular, like Yamcha, Tien and Master Roshi. Even Piccolo became useless, he is the best character on the show.

When you go back and study the original manga, you notice faults and that some things are just... not good. Such as most of our favorite characters being dismissed in favor of more golden haired saiyan faggotry and "durp next level of super saiyan."

Is this perhaps a better explination of what i intended?

Basically you're pretty much right. The original company had signed on for X number of episodes, and Cartoon Network ran all of them. After that there was a problem getting a new company signed on to dub the rest of the series, then they had to go through the recording, editing etc, for all of those eps. When they finally got ready CN aired the rest.

The timelines don't fit in a way that works with what Trunks told us about time travel. Repeat viewings got my trying to come up with a workable set of timelines, but I always end up with something that can't be reconciled (without adding in new rules anyway). Most cartoon dubs in latin america are made in Mexico. In the case of DBZ, the rights were bought by a company that sold the show to many different countries in episode packs. You know, they sold them 2 arcs at a time, something like that.
Still, the Mexican dubbers took a long time making new episodes, so we raged epically every time the show restarted.

I remember this happening once or twice with Power Rangers: In Space.

Shit pissed me off sooo much. But it only happened once at a HUEG cliffhanger so it was super anticipation when they finally beat the big bad guy :]
