I just read Tight Rope by Natsume Isaku, it takes a while to get started and there is an additional story (Ch. 5) but it has a good (not weird like some yaoi) intimate part in Ch. 4 and 6 =D

Anyway, this anon has it down. I'm actually reading all of the volumes when I have time. It's pretty good so far. It's fairly comedic with a nice slice of ANNNNGST but it's not too overbearing and the characters are actually very affectionate with each other people they LOVE each other and not just because they're hot and horny and want to fuck every five minutes.

I don't get how anyone can like Miyamoto Kano. I've tried reading her stuff, but. . . it's all the same melodramatic plot.

Although it might also have something to do with the fact that a lot of her scenes are just really awkward for me to read.

BUT ANYWHO, I will tentatively say that my favorite BL is Be Caught by You by Chiba Ryoko. It's short, but. . . it's so cute . ;_; However, I love anything by her, Suzuki Tsuta, Natsume Isaku, Ogurua Muku, Kyuugou, and Jaryuu Dokuro.

Anything at all by Yoneda Kou, but especially her grittier stories. She really has a talent for writing dark, angsty stories without going way over the top and making thing too melodramatic and cliché. Tadayoedo Shizumazu, Saredo Naki mo Sezu is my favorite, but I love all her work. Plus, the art is gorgeous.

...And her KHR! doujins made me ship Yamamoto/Hibari like a motherfucker, it kind of freaks me out. I can't even picture the two of them with anyone else now.

Other than her, Natsume Ono (under the pseudonym Basso) and Asumiko Nakamura are probably the two BL mangaka I like best. I still need to check out Kyuugou, I always hear good things about her manga.

I went through a period where all I read was Naono Bohra for about a month straight. And... the results were very interesting. I loved her stories but I ended up having weird ass dreams for a while because of it. I guess my favorite story is the one with the guy who got electrocuted and falls in love with that yakuza's younger brother. 'twas pretty hilarious.

It's short as hell, but cute, and the art style is reminescent of Halco's work. Of course Halco put out an original manga called Suteneko no Karute that's been recommended a few times. Personally I liked the first story in SnK but I prefered the one-shot at the end. It was so lovely.

Anyway I recommend both. Hell, if you're a Gintama fan and don't mind Gintoki/Shinpachi (an odd pairing, I know) Halco does some amazing doujinshi featuring those two idiots.

God, ages ago I passed about two months reading BL manga scanlations. I read something like a thousand different stories I think, lol. Then I stopped, but I don't really know why (maybe I grew tired of gay secks, meh). Well, it's weird. They took off the advanced options of SEARCHING for yaoi and yuri, smut, shota and loli, but the actual manga are still on the site. It's easy to bypass this.

Such as if you wanted to look up school life and yaoi anyway, all you'd have to do is just add it into the url bar (you'll see when you see what the URL is when searching something different), manually and it will display all the school life and yaoi manga.

Mangafox didn't really get rid of anything, they're just hiding it.
