/k/ here. I have a damaged Kinder Surprise egg that I need to fix since it is for a gift.

The damage is mostly at the top.

I was thinking of splitting the egg in 2, applying a little heat around the dented in areas and shaping it against the inside of a spoon (or similar rounded object).

Then I would place the 2 halves together and apply heat/melted chocolate to spot weld them together like a slavshit submachine gun (PPSh-41)

This is a pic showing the damage.

Would the process I listed in the OP work?

aspy, ocd, tourettes, or all four?

None of the above. Just want to give someone a presentable gift.

>I cannot simply run to the store and buy a new one because 'murrika b& these.
>I got this one from Europe.
>>
>>4647682
I've. Done this before, it definitely works. I used my stove top on the 4 heat setting and put the chocolate about a centimeter from the flame for only 3 seconds and pulled it a bit and it looked like new. Posts pics of the process and ill help you along the way if you need it or get confused
>>
>>4647682
I just called the feds and told them that you own a child mass murdering weapon.
>>
>>4647690
I'm afraid that there are some portions that have cracked inwards and that heat won't do much to help since the bits will melt and drip inwards, forming a hole.

>I have not opened the wrapper yet
>>
>>4647669 (OP)

Just be honest and tell them you bought it for them, but it got a bit crushed on the way back.

The chocolate will taste the same and the toy is the best bit anyway.
>>
It will be very difficult to remove the foil wrap without tearing it.
>>
>>4647763
I plan on working slowly.

>>4647737
While this can be done, I believe I can fix this.
>>
OP, do you just want me to mail you a new one? For fuck's sake, it's a $1 chocolate.
>>
>>4647771

Whats the ambient temperature at your location and the relative humidity?
>>
>>4647771

You'll need a blowtorch lighter and the back of a spoon.

And good judgement on the melting point of cheap chocolate.
>>
>>4647669 (OP)
jesus if you are going to that much trouble, why not just make hand made chocolates or some other treat yourself?
>>
you should start gently annealing the chocolate by varying the temperature in the room by 15 degrees every 5 minutes.

Would a standard cigarette lighter work?

OP, are you that much of a cheap piece of shit where you can't go buy another?

You can still find them all over the place in import stores. Nobody actually enforces that.
>>
Indiana State Police ended up shooting a guy over a kinder contraband. He reached for the egg.. why did he reach for the egg.
>>
>>4649110
Link?
>>
Gift as in what occasion and who are you giving this to?
I can't imagine an adult getting fucking pissed off because a chocolate egg broke unless you were a cheap bastard and got them one for their birthday or wedding or some shit.

I'd be more grossed out that you tampered with something you knew I was going to put in my mouth.
>>
>>4649145
I'm giving this to a friend when I return to university.
>>
Look OP use a pin, then stick the pin there and slowly move it around, but before this you're going to want to isolate the area you're going to want to fix, probably make it harder to make it more dynamic to move around. Thank me later, I just thought of it.
>>
>>4649189
I already plan on separating the halves.

How do I isolate more areas?
>>
>>4649198
Oh, well freeze it for now. I guess, but only until it becomes hard enough to shift, or you could just melt the choclate and refreeze it around the egg, I kind of forgot how the kinder surprises work

Even then it's unlikely to work, Kinder eggs have a layer of white chocolate in the middle. Even if he can fix the outer coat, the temperature difference for the inner white chocolate coating is going to fuck it up.
>>
>>4649132
What do you mean link? Go to a mom and pop store anywhere and you're bound to find one.

how would you even get the chocolate off the spoon when you try to remold it? i feel like you're just going to make things worst. lol

just buy a new one or a small egg mold.
>>
>>4650064
Coat spoon with vegetable oil or a similar method?

How do they get the chocolate off the mold at the factory?

That's why you should get pic related during summer. Kinder Joy was explicitly created to avoid that sort of thing in the hot season.
>>
>>4647669 (OP)

If you were really serious about doing this, you'd get a small egg mould that can be frozen (for tempering purposes) then start from scratch after making your own delicious white and milk chocolates from scratch and not using that utter, utter horrendous shit that Ferrero calls chocolate.
>>
>>4650259
Oh, and what kind of a fuckign kiddie fiddler are you?

Giving a fucking kinder surprise as a gift???

Looking to get lucky down the local pre-school are you?
>>

also fill it with vinegar

wat

>>4650259
Where can I get an egg mold like you described?

>>4650245
The damage isn't from melting. It's from being impacted against the corner of some smaller boxes that were in my luggage.
>>
>>4647835
/thread
>>
That looks extremely damaged. I'd try a hair dryer + spoon. Don't get fingerprints all over it.
>>
what is wrong with /ck/ today? We had the /pol/ thread earlier about the Trayvon Martin buffet and now this tard from /k/ is trying to fix his shit tier gift from yurop for his gun butt buddies.

Why didn't you buy more than one and package them better?

Good luck on your repair job.
