From depths of Yurop, I've come to Manhattan for a few days - and most restaurants I saw gave me the impression of shitty places designed for tourist-ripoff only.

So, what do you recommend I eat, and where? (Excluding fancy places, not because of the cost, but because I'm travelling alone and it feels awkward to sit by myself and wait for food in such places)

    Chinatown, Nigger Boosh

Why leave Europe in the first place? Everyone knows that yanks are worthless. You should probably get a hamburger and plane back to where ever you came from.

And really, what a waste. Europe is full of very diverse culturally unique metropolitan cities and you choose to experience this american basdaridisation. Besides, usonian cities are ugly and people there are stupid. Stupider than you would have ever though; Prepare yourself for major cultureshock.

that's like saying don't go to burma because it's full of crap

you gotta see different things, it's not like I'm moving in

I mean, even hamburgers, we only have shitty McDonald's burgers where I live, maybe there are some good ones here, etc. etc.

Wander around then ask somebody who doesn't look busy where their favorite place to eat is? New Yorkers love to talk about their town.
    >> Anonymous 02/05/09(Thu)22:43 No.811006
Yeah, I'm seconding Chinatown. Wander about until you find things that catch your eye.
Eat from a halal foods cart on the street. Food smells fucking delicious, and is.
Other things... Patsy's Pizzeria. Love their pizza.

What are you looking for, really?

Yes, but seriously speaking if you're looking for cultural experiences USA really is not the place to go since it's all more or less homogeneous. And really, american culture in the full sense of it does not even exist.

You should have gone to any big city in Europe. Seriously, you have Madrid, you have Berlin, Paris, London, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, effing ROME, Stockholm, Athens, among others. But you go to Manhattan?! Face-fucking-palm. Seriously.

Do it. It's totally not a suicide mission, because in suicide missions you die but with this you just feel like you're going to die and then it's fine and you get a sandwich or something.

Actually, I've been to all except Budapest, Vienna and Stockholm among those you listed - and I plan on going to those places sometime. I get around a lot.

    Everywhere has something to offer.
