it's not just /ck/ it's the whole site. and it's not only recently, it's been a few years now since 4chan went pop after it was in Times. Things you can do are report non-food threads. mods are slow, but if it really is unrelated and a few people report, they can delete it. other than that, there's not much to do except just ignore it. I mean, they are just bored, usually kids just looking for attention to pass the time, anyway.

/ck/ has been shitty for awhile now. I blame the sudden and unwanted influx of namefags. Progun was enough, but then we had those douchebags Sceak and Cain and these new obnoxious assholes Rosebot and Orange.

Other than that, /ck/ has become sort of a parody of itself. Everyone knows which threads are troll threads, but there's so little OC, everyone replies anyway. And of course, whenever there is OC, everyone gets their jimmies rustled about the details, and the resulting bitchfest ensures that nobody will post original content again.

The only way to save /ck/ is if everyone matured the fuck up overnight, and I just don't see that happening.

I think that the problem isn't whether or not they deserve it (they do, in most cases) but the fact that every time one of them posts, the thread almost immediately gets derailed into a shitfest.
