I mean its probably not even potato but my god its delicious.
    >> Anonymous 04/24/12(Tue)05:10 No.3569938
Does KFC really do this? I saw this thing on /v/, too. Same picture. Can't help but wonder if I'm being trolled, whether this is marketing or just a guy that loves chicken spreading the good news.

It IS freezedried potato, but you wouldn't want to know what makes that gravy.

Well, my younger brother quit KFC after 1 day of training back in his teenage years ... because he found out how the gravy is made.

Nah, it's something pretty mundane, people go "oh," and then when they start picturing it the reality hits them in full force.

Burnt breadcrumbs that fell off the chicken, IIRC

This is exactly how my brother told me.
"At KFC, the main work surfaces have this trough thing underneath. If something dirty is on the work surface (usually mundane shit like pieces of KFC skin, oil drippings and burnt bits), it just gets pushed by hand or swept into the trough. So this trough, it's full of brownish rancid oil and shit, right? The manager points out the trough and says 'don't throw that out, that's how we make the gravy.' with a perfect trollface."

Now remember, the median KFC worker is ~17. Not exactly well trained in work standards and hygiene.

Do you fuckers really believe this shit? KFC gravy comes dehydrated, they add water to it.
    >> Anonymous 04/24/12(Tue)05:30 No.3569984
    >>3569982
    God knows.
    >> Anonymous 04/24/12(Tue)05:33 No.3569989
    >>3569982
The base powder is just the standard KFC chicken skin powder, but do you really think water gives that nice rich greasy feel of the gravy and the oil content also comes dehydrated, just add water? And you think KFC is allowed by law to serve customers room temperature tap water mixed with powder that's been sitting around?

Anyone who's worked at KFC or even made instant gravy knows that it's not "just add water".

i worked at a kfc\tacobell and can indeed confirm the gravy is made from whatever stuff is filtered out of these things plus the powder and water.. sometimes we would run out and make gravy with just the powder and it was still pretty good
