    Only for breakfast or lunch.

Eating dinner alone is way too sad to share in public.
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)16:22 No.3560262
I only ever see the hipster artist type or mentally deranged looking people eating alone. I can only imagine the sad types of lives they must live. Then I order my soup and salad for one and browse 4chan on my smart phone.
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)17:19 No.3560345
there's nothing wrong with eating alone except for the people who think eating alone is somehow wrong or weird. those people are co-dependent on others and are insecure.

i eat alone all the time because i like being alone, i'm far more efficient that way and don't have to deal with the people i perceive as obnoxious. the only thing i wish is that i could meet more people that im relatable to.

if you don't have self- view issues and dont care about what other people think then theres no reason to care about eating alone.
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)17:24 No.3560352
itt lonelly nerds convinse themselves its ok to eat out alone AGEN bc they have no friends 2 do it with

    This.

Honestly, if you're worried about what people think about you for eating alone then you're probably insecure in some way or another.

And this is coming from a person who has huge insecurities, outside from eating alone of course.

The only acceptable dining alone is having a coffee or fast food. Anything else is a waste.

There is nothing wrong with eating alone, but when it comes to restaurants with OP's question, it is absolutely wrong.

People who think it's alright to eat alone are obviously just loser, fuck-ups who don't have a single contact to hook up with for a casual meal. Restaurants are not just food service stations, that's what vending machines and the drive-thru's are for, dumbasses. Restaurants are for people to go out and have a nice social engagement with someone, whether intimate or casual, and enjoy a meal. It's about 50% the meal, and 50% the social aspect.

For you to barbarically strip the social aspect out of eating at restaurants is fucking outrageous and completely insults mankind's established social construct and the culinary arts themselves.

Who the FUCK do you think you are switching up our cultural values and saying it's not only ok to eat out alone, but calling others insecure if they do not want to eat out alone? You're full of shit, people like you should be crucified. I'm an introvert and I eat my home-made meals alone, but I would never be so audacious as to eat out in public alone. That's just fucking pathetic.

There's a nice little burger joint I go to once a week. I bring a book, and have a delicious burger and a few beers.

It's incredibly relaxing, and probably one of the things I look forward to most each week.

NO FUCKING SHIT. And you're point is?... No problem with getting take out for one person, but to sit down at a table designed for multiple people all alone and fucking permeate the restaurant with your forever alone bullshit for an hour is pathetic.

I will absolutely judge the FUCK outa you if you did that in my restaurant (local lunch joint). I don't care if you're ordering a grilled cheese, coffee, or the fucking steak dinner, do it it home and save yourself the embarrassment and everyone else the pity.

A restaurant will take whatever business it can get.

If I owned a restaurant and someone came in by themselves, I'd kick them out. I wouldn't my place getting a reputation that it's a haven for the loney losers.

I'm afraid I don't understand why you're getting so fucking angry over something so completely non offensive. You're making this sound like some egregiously offensive act and it frankly isn't. You didn't write the book on who gets to eat in restaurants and how they get to act when they're there, faggot.

    I'm >>3560369
I go out to eat with friends.
I also like to enjoy a nice meal I didn't have to slave over and read a book.
Why is it such a fucking problem for you that I want to have some food and relax by myself?

My insecurities fucking eat me alive all the fucking time I just can't eat at a restaurant alone. I can't tell if it's pathetic or not but it's just something that i can't do in good faith. When i was in college i made sure to avoid this because of how painful it feels. At my last job i rode the bus to 7-11 everyday because it gave me something to do, I was able to eat on the bus, wasn't as ashamed, it took up my lunch hour and was better than staying at that shit job. I live in NYC so many good places to go, but terrible to go alone. I'm lucky enough to have a good amount of friends but sometimes i want to eat alone and at the same time have amazing food that's not fast food..

    It depends on the place. If it's like a sub shop/coffe shop/fast food/italian take out/etc, I don't see a problem at all.

If it's like Friday's or something, I mean, just make whatever you want at home or go to the bar at fridays.

If it's a fine dining place, c'mon, invite someone in your life. Friend/s, family, your girl/guy, a date, whatever. If you have no one, make a friend or join a dining club, call an escort, or some shit.
    >> Anonymous 04/19/12(Thu)20:32 No.3560761
I do it on occasion. It's nice when you're not on someone else's schedule/ just want some alone time.

Not seeing why people care about what strangers think when they eat alone. They don't pay for your meal, know who you are, give a fuck about your well being, etc.
