OP
here, sorry for my absence, but this thread went places without me
anyway. Thanks for all the support, lots of good advice, I'm sure I'm
not the only person to learn something. I was going to maybe post how
the meat turned out a week from now on, but I guess I should update now,
sticky and all.
Questions: I've never hunted, hold a gun or
butchered a deer. How did I know what to do - I like to cook, I know my
way around poultry and pork, I read survival books. It wasn't hard, I
was just worried about poking hole in the bathtub. I posted on /ck/
because I wasn't sure how to prepare meat without it turning tough and
dry, because I've never prepared venison and only ate it once, years
ago. Possibility of getting brain worms didn't really cross my mind.
The
stench wasn't too bad, I was worried about stinking up whole
apartament, but only bathroom and kitchen were affected, after I threw
away head and entrails smell got faint and once I cleaned everything up
you would have never guessed there was animal corpse in the tub.
As
much as I like liver, I've decided to throw it away after reading about
parasites. Eating brain was never an option, head was first thing to
go. Heart is the only internal organ I kept (you can see it in the first
pic I posted).
