It's very similar to A1. Every place I went to breakfast when I was in the UK had it in a squeeze bottle next to the salt and pepper. It's pretty good on eggs and black pudding.

Amerifag here. I usually keep a bottle of HP fruity around because it's a much more delicious/flavorful alternative to ketchup or barbecue sauce, at least to me. Regular HP sauce isn't quite as versatile. All HP sauces are fairly intensely vinegary and strongly flavored. HP sauce vs. A1 sauce? HP sauce is made for various things whereas A1 is specifically made for steaks. There are subtle differences.
Did Bullseye stop making steak sauce or is my grocery store a bunch of faggots?
