It has recently come to my attention that everyone on this board knows everything about nutrition and that no one can eat a lot or eat unhealthy without being fat or getting heart attacks.
Allow me to blow your minds:
My family eats like fucking pigs. Huge, fatty meals without the slightest concern for our health or weight.
Not one of us is overweight. We're all slim, healthy, and fit. We're all adults and have had no major health problems at all, other than my dad being a major klutz.

So before you tell your fellow anons they are being unhealthy or are going to get fat by eating a certain way, just shut the fuck up, m'kay? Knowing what someone eats does not give you an insight into their health status or lifestyle..

    That is all.

a lot of fat people dont think they are fat
    >> Anonymous 03/25/10(Thu)13:50 No.1676432
I smoke three packs a day and I'm not dead yet.
    >> Anonymous 03/25/10(Thu)13:55 No.1676447
OP, diet is a large part of lifestyle. Knowing someone's diet is knowing a lot about someone's lifestyle.
    >> Anonymous 03/25/10(Thu)13:57 No.1676449
Not as large as knowing how active they are. If Michael Phelps posted his diet on here you would all tell him he was a fat, unhealthy, pothead.

Wrong. Athletes eat a lot, but they do NOT gorge themselves of the fast food that sponsor them. He probably eats lots of lean meats, grains, veggies, legumes, nuts, fruits, and drinks water by the gallon.

    >no one can eat a lot or eat unhealthy without being fat or getting heart attacks.
That's European logic. Seeing as they are all farmers it doesn't matter since all they eat are vegetables like koreans.

    >We're all slim, healthy, and fit
This is all a matter of time. What one can handle always comes down to how long they live. Even a 60-70 year old man can have a good fast metabolism.

Health really is just a measure of how the body reacts and there are just a lot of weak people in the world Anonymous.

You shouldn't try to prove an exception is the standard. There are just a lot of people that won't be able to do the same as your family simply because theirs aren't able to handle it. Being it them lazy or lack the genes.

Men are not made equal and diet proves this fat more than anything else.

You have the appearance of health without actually being healthy. Being slim and not getting sick does not mean health.

    Wrong.
    >What this young man does not do is diet. But his eating regimen is as closely monitored as is the speed at which he sails from end-to-end of the pool. Packing in about 10,000 to 12,000 calories a day, Phelps chows down on what most us would love to consider as 'diet' food: fried egg sandwiches, pizza, and pasta.

Using anecdotal evidence of such limited application does nothing to disprove the general idea that eating bad is bad for you. You are quite stupid to attempt to make such an argument.

I don't think the point was that all people can eat like this, rather that it is, in fact possible for some people and that anon should stop judging based solely on his/her own experiences and understand that some people are just healthy by nature.

I disagree, I know people with horrible diets who are slim and pretty healthy, why? Because of high metabolism.
I also know people who supposedly eat right, run and swim and you know what? They feel like crap 85% of the time.
Diet is a factor in life style, it's hardly a grand insight.
No two humans are alike and no two will react the exact same way.

that is true, but you can still make generalizations. That is basically what all medicine is about. Using a single or even several examples that something didn't happen doesn't make it untrue. I drove drunk last night and didn't crash so driving drunk is safe.

Thank you for your insanely racist comment.
Have you seen French Cooking? I mean honest to goodness Down on the farm French cooking?
Butter and Cream are two of the main staples of French home cooking, Pork fat and Goose fat being a close second.
You have never left your parents basement, have you..

fat doesn't make you fat, simple carbs do
but just cause you're not fat doesn't mean you're healthy

Agreed, my room mate is slim as a post, eats very healthy foods and rarely has sweets, he has passed 14? kidney stones, kept a cold for 4 weeks and I was sure he was close to death a few times.
Health is just about being Fat, it's about taking care to eat the right things, enough of them and know what your body needs.
You can be really slim and fuck yourself up as well.
