Hey ramen fags. Why don't you get like, other noodles?

We do. We are noodle connoisseurs. We appreciate a wide variety of noodles, and are not unjustly biased against ramen because they are Japanese or popular. We have a great appreciation for the dish, since Chinese noodle soups and ramen have a great balance for a lunchtime meal, and their alkaline content gives them a splendid texture that is even preserved in soups, unlike many other varieties of noodle.

where can i get a package of spaghetti that costs 15 cents and comes with a sauce packet?
sure there's those generic mac and cheeses, but ramen's better, and this one's vegan.
    >> Anonymous 01/27/10(Wed)13:05 No.1524690
instant ramen - 25 cents or so
pack of egg noodles about the size of 3 instant ramen bricks - 3 usd.

    take a wild guess.
    >> Anonymous 01/27/10(Wed)13:10 No.1524694
go to any asian market. you can get plenty of different noodles, in bulk, on the cheap. we're not talking 15 cent ramen cheap, but close enough.

    >3 usd

Really? A 500gramme pack of spaghetti costs 30 eurocent at ALDI, that would be approximately 45 american cent. You can't tell me Wallmart or your ALDI sell their spaghetti for 3usd. Is food that fucking expensive over there?
    >> Anonymous 01/27/10(Wed)13:59 No.1524748
    >>1524744

Yes, if you want good quality food it's more expensive than Europe. This is why body weight is so closely tied to socioeconomic status in the US.

    >>1524744

US government has direct control over the grain market, and prices are slightly higher. Its about $0.88 us cents for a 16 ounce package of spaghetti (Almost 500g)
    >> Anonymous 01/27/10(Wed)14:07 No.1524761
    >>1524748

Well, I wouldn't exactly call the spaghetti you can buy at ALDI quality food but they are eadible for all intents and purposes. I mean they are Spaghetti for crying out loud, it's not like they're anying fancy. What do you guys pay for a large sack of potatoes, 10 dollars?

Here in Minnesota, it's about 1.60 for generic 16 oz pasta. Keep in mind that pasta is one of the cheapest items in existence.
    >> Anonymous 01/27/10(Wed)14:08 No.1524763
    >>1524759
is right. US gov has direct control over the grain market. That's why we have HFCS in everything, corn is our cheap product, not other grains.

A 450g bag of cheap noodles costs $2.50 USD at HEB (a grocery), and that's the shit with bleached flour in it.
    >> Anonymous 01/27/10(Wed)14:08 No.1524764
    >>1524759

Well okay, that's more believable than 3 usd and the excuse for buying ramen just flew out the window.

Potatoes are 80 cents per pound, typically. Squash is usually 1 dollar per pound. Fresh vegetables are, ridiculous, like 5 dollars a pound for bell peppers.

varies way too much depending on where you are. For example, near 10 bucks in Chicago, 3 or 4 bucks in the boonies

can you be more specific? what's the smallest amount of money i can spend to get noodles online, which site?
I don't doubt that if i bought a pallet the per unit cost would be low, but i usually buy 1 or 5 ramen at a time.

    >> Anonymous 01/27/10(Wed)14:26 No.1524830

It's a term that came to America via American GIs in the Philippines.

The Tagalog word for mountains is "bundok". In the Philippines if you are mountain people it's like saying hillbillies.

    thanks and welcome
, but thats around a buck each. the brand i like is 25 cents at a local store, around 15 cents for the supergeneric ones, or i could get the 50 cent ones at the asian markets.
non-ramen noodles can be $3 for one with a fancy label or $150 for a plain label. aldi might still have 50 cent box of macaroni.

cigarettes are $2 for the tobacco, optional $2 for fncy package, then $2-8 in extortian to the local protection racket. i don't smoke, but i'd like to grow some tobacco, where do i get seeds?

When I first started lurking /ck/ I wanted to know what the big fuss was about. So I bought some Ramen and some Udon. Threw it in some sort of peanut based dish if I recall.
Anyways it took me about a week before I realised they were talking about Pot Noodle. :<
