E.coli and other bacteria only exist on the outside of steak. Searing it...even blue rare is safe enough. Hamburger is a different story. People who eat hamburgers rare are fucking retarded.

A1 is for faggots and niggers. Excessively thick filet mignon is cooked medium rare. Everything else is rare.

I'll say between Medium to Medium Well is perfect. Most of the population preference even.

Any extreme to either polars are mostly enthusiasts.

I like well done best. Meat being "juicy" and full of blood doesn't seem too appetizing to me.

I cringe when I go out with friends and they order their steak "Well Done," which to me is way overboard and they all know I think they are stupid for ordering it that way. When I was younger I used to order it Medium-Well and have worked my way up to Medium-Rare and like it that way depending on the cut. However, I feel like I have to specify exactly how I want my steak cooked and the STILL fuck it up. It's sad that you have to go to an expensive restaurant just to get a steak cooked the proper way.

Doesn't "seem" too appetizing to you? Have you tried it or just going on looks? You're missing out on a huge culinary world if that's your outlook on food.

I have eaten rare, but not blue rare. That's just too much for me. I don't really like it at all, and I don't get why people like it this way. Medium is good, but well done is what I like best.

    >> Anonymous 08/27/09(Thu)00:44 No.1155700
Medium. I can't trust medium rare and below to stay warm until I'm done eating it and I find that any piece of steak above medium has no taste whatsoever and feels like rubber.
    >> Anonymous 08/27/09(Thu)00:50 No.1155703
i like my steaks rare, which depending on the restaurant and/or who is cooking i order between blue and medium rare to get it that way. i arrived at this preference by buying a full tenderloin with a couple buddies and we all tried everything from raw to medium well. anybody who has arrived at their choice of steak doneness by any other method than trying all the levels has their head up their ass.
    >> Anonymous 08/27/09(Thu)01:00 No.1155717
I've been asking for and making them medium since I was a kid. Month ago I make one medium rare, it was godly. Next one I make didn't quite make it to medium rare and I ended up not finishing it. All of this with A1 of course.
    >> Anonymous 08/27/09(Thu)01:05 No.1155731
Rare or Medium-Rare here. Steak sauce is for pussies.
    >> Anonymous 08/27/09(Thu)01:09 No.1155740
Steak sauce is fine as long as it is either under the steak or served to the side of the steak, for dipping. Poured on top is not OK.
    >> Anonymous 08/27/09(Thu)01:10 No.1155742
The rarest I have had a steak was a 1.5" ribeye that i was making while completely starved. The inside was cool to the touch. I still ate the whole thing though.

By the way I didn't get or feel in any way sick.
    >> Anonymous 08/27/09(Thu)01:11 No.1155744
I like mine properly seasoned instead of sauced and it has to be above well done, blackened on the outside, I've tried rare before but never got into the taste of red meat, so I like mine really well cooked.

Okay, I'll take back what I said before, because this statement is absolutely correct. The same can be said of most things, come to think of it... a little goes a long way, and most sauces should only be used as garnish.
    >> Anonymous 08/27/09(Thu)01:16 No.1155752
    Why the steak sauce hate??

I've taken "steak sauce" w/ like thrice in my entire lifetime of steak eating. Air quote because it was rrly just siracha hot sauce...lol, and ketchup once (very stupid as hell), and Del Taco "salsa" (very confusing).

So yeah, why the hate?? I've never try Ai

Rare in a good restaurant, medium rare in a shitty place. I cook my own steaks medium rare.

The whole no sauce thing always seemed pretentious to me, but I'm no connoisseur I guess. I just like to eat and enjoy my food. So sometimes I have sauce.

All food cooked over 115 °F is toxic poison. Heat destroys the vital enzymes of living food. It goes without saying that, being that it is already dead, meat is the most poisonous substance a person can eat.
