    Iron Chef.

I don't think any other show has made me want to cook as much as this one. I am currently downloading 150 episodes, and I'm having a massive nostalgia trip. I used to stay up at 2AM watching this show on Food Network years ago.

Favorite chef? Favorite episode? Favorite dishes? Good memories? Rage stories of Iron Chef America?
    >> Starvingsudaenesekidfag !B/3i5xZ09. 06/09/09(Tue)12:28 No.1016737
    Favorite Chef: Chen Kinichi
    Favorite Episode: Battle Tofu
Favorite Dishes: Fish eye ice cream
Good Memories: Watching Iron Chef Japan always invokes great memories.
Rage: Not Iron Chef America related but kind of, since it involves "Iron Chef" Bobby Flay. Remember when he was on Iron Chef Japan and jumped on his cutting board after the battle? Then everyone got pissed at him for disgracing his cutting board by standing on it, so when he came back for a rematch he did the same thing but THREW THE CUTTING BOARD ON THE GROUND instead?

    GODDAMN I HATE BOBBY FLAY.

I think a great idea would be to tie him down and inject a poison into his veins after rubbing the REAL spice into his eyes (scotch bonnet and habenero peppers) and stuffing them into his throat. Maybe we should skip the poison and just have him choke on ancho peppers.

I've never loved Asian cooking more than since watching that show. Why, oh why did it have to come off the air? I.C.A. sucks!! There needs to be a new Japanese I.C. soon.

Ever catch the "A Salt & Battery" fish and chips episode? (Great eatery by the way) The restaurant owners are talking about how they carefully measure and test the mix for their batter, and how it has exact proportions, and how they keep the exact ingredients and amounts secret, etcetera, and then the camera cuts to Flay in the test kitchen with his assistants trying to tell him that his batter needs exact measurements and he just brushes them off. Then when his fish come out like shit he threatens to fire them. God what an asshole.

I remember an episode of Iron Chef: America, where Batali was the Iron Chef squaring off against some bald black guy from (I think) Georgia, the challenge involving making drinks to go with each dish and something else.

They finish up cooking, and the challenger presents first. His dishes are an intricate and delicate composition of flavors and ingredients, combined to make a special meal of a lifetime. The meal was made to create a unique sensation on the taste buds, and each dish was perfectly presented on the plate.

Batali served Vietnamese street vendor food.

    Batali won.

Well, the iron chef japan is better but the cultural barrier bothers me a bit. Also the chefs are losing their face when they lose the challenge. It is cheery but deep down far more serious battle.

The american version is worse but quite entertaining. Especially when they have non-american celeb chefs like Jamie Oliver. I would have liked to see Gordon Ramsay brush the floors with the waste of space called Mario Batalli.
