I've been to a lot of popular proxy list sites and find almost all of them to be banned, usually for the kind of bot spam we see here all the time.
In one sense it's bad because it's hard to find a proxy, but at least these bot users are probably having a harder time, too.

Proxy sites, as opposed to just a proxy address, seem to be banned less often. You usually end up with extra banner ads on each page though, which sucks.

Anyway, I'm from /v/, rage is our middle name.

I have just a trial verson of proxy, and I one week three of the four IP's have been banned for some very nastie stuff. and this si stuff we all have stumbled across from time to time.

If we used a membership baced system we could stop I.P adresses around the world from being poluted by perverts. you cant keep them out its impossible, but we can squeeze them out with timely deletions of there posts.

I could subscribe to proxy with 100's of available Ip addresses, now i dont go wrecking them with poor behavior,thats how these perv's and Ped's get in here all the time useing stolen or unused I.P. adresses.
im one of the good guys who keeps falling victom to proxy I.P theft. so now proxy is all thats available to me to allow me to be on 4chan, its against the rules to side step your ban, but tecnicly this is the olny rule ive broken.

4chan currently decides who is allowed on its site baced on their I.P address, but its a sevearly flawed system.
My I.P. adress was stolen likely by useing Proxy software. Because my virus software is top notch and always up to date. so it had to have been from proxy, it can happen to anyone who logs off the internet, once logged off your I.P is no longer in use, so it can be scooped up by Proxy and misused. so the next time you log on to 4chan you may find yourself permenently banned, just like me.
to fix this we need a membership system, with pass words, that way no-one can impersonate you or get you banned.

the avrage 'Land line baced' user can just unplug their modum for five minutes, and when they plug it back in they will have a new I.P. adress, but I use Air card 'wireless' because I,m on the road all the time, so changing my I.P is not so simple, and so my ban's greatly effect me, I'm currently looking into how I can get my I.P changed, but I'm sure it will cost me money.

But the main problem is that we have people who can enter site and do what ever they want without consequence. that means logging on to /c/ and posting a picture of a suicide victom in full bloody detail if thats what they want to do.
I could do it right now, and this I.P address would be banned, then I just pause for a moment and get a new one, "Takes 5 seconds" and I'm back on, 4chans current diciplineary action is ineffective, thats what this is about.

Which begs the question, why are you even using a proxy OP? There's really no reason to except for ban evasion or to hide your identity in order to post nefarious material.

Also, your idea is retarded. It's possible that permabans could result in people on residential connections w/dynamic IPs from getting blocked, but I'd imagine this is very rare as residential ISPs will have a large pool of IP addresses to draw from. And in the rare event this happened, you can just reset your router to get a new IP assigned or call up your ISP for a new one if you've got a static address. Again the current system works fine unless you are using proxies all the time to browse the site. Pretty sure the site rules don't allow proxies as well for the reasons I mentioned above, generally they are abused.

But Rare? No its happened to me three times. I'm just one person.
But no the system I suggest is not going to stop it, but it will work faster to delete the offending material, rather than waiting for a 4 chan staffer to do it. or at least it will help.
I,m not saying this is the solution, Someone could think of a better one I'm sure, the point I'm getting at is, the current system is grossly ineffective, and good people like myself are the ones who suffer for it. not the true offenders.

All I'm asking is talk to 4chan People, tell them its not working. 1 voice is easy to ignore. but many voices mite get somewhere.

they do allow proxy sue, but have sofware to limit it. it even says so in one of the ban messages, but side stepping a ban is against the rules, but as i said before, "Technicly its the olny rule ive broken.

Last answer, "I' used /c/ because its the olnt site i post on most of the time, and its a slow moving site tipically, so when i'm on the road during the day, my threads dont drop off the ten page before I can tend to them.
