03/09/09(Mon)09:49 No.912426>>911406 Because they probably figured out by now that visual consistency is a sticking point in a video game. While
the Japanese audience undoubtingly sees nothing wrong with distinct
"anime" style face portraits in a game that is otherwise totally 3d cg,
else where, the question would arise of "why is this here, when it is
the sole example of it's artstyle in the whole of the game?" It's like bringing a 20th century firearm into a game that it clearly would not belong in. Of
course, such a thing would mesh with the series long held plot point of
artifacts that are not in sync with their surroundings, but the devs
probably aren't smart enough to exploit such a subtle idea. |
