Guy here. If memory serves, these threads usually show something like 30-40% or /c/ to be girls or guys-pretending-to-be-girls.

Thinking about gender on /c/ always seems weird to me. It's hard to imagine girls on the Internet, but it's equally hard (and/or creepy) to imagine this place as mostly guys, given the content and culture. I just consider /c/ genderless.

there was a study done once, and they determined that all males online were actually males, and 90% of all females online were also males...this however doesnt always hold true nor does it mean there are never any females. I myself have met many females online, and even met some of them in person so I know there are. So if you say you are a female then I will take your word on it, honestly doesnt concern me if you are really a girl or not.

You're right. I actually know (or knew) a few guys who are into anime. It's just that I've always pictured them liking shows like DBZ or Cowboy Bebop (action shows), rather than K-ON! ("cute stuff"), because American society and it's wacky stereotypes dictates the former is for guys and the latter for girls.

Considering (at least in the USA) men aren't suppose to like cute, or be cute, it's no surprise that we're not going to volunteer the information. Well, if you want /c/ stuff, then you should watch Strawberry Panic. Its a yuri, but its all pretty sfw, no worse than primetime TV. Full Metal Panic is another good one. Significantly less /c/ stuff, but whats there is golden, and its just a very good anime.
